DIEGRINDER IS ONE MOTHERF*CKIN' WORD! Why can't people get it right? Apathy, stupidity, laziness and possibly more! "Detroit Rock City" has become an oxymoron over the last three decades and has produced downright embarrassing music. The path blazed from John Lee Hooker thru the Stooges, MC5 and Alice Cooper was extinguished by years (hell, decades!) of trend jumping and cliquishness in a city that desperately wishes it was cool but so often comes up short. Diegrinder refuses to play the ass-kissing game to make friends in this city, instead looking to those from their city that have inspired them with the tenacity to follow their own hearts. Comparing themselves to their influences is insulting to those that came before them who created the blueprint of musical greatness, therefore they reference the spirit of the music that influenced them and the approach of those who did it for the right reasons. Diegrinder is a Detroit band that is smart enough to know that the city yearns to be the musical hotbed it once was but spectacularly fails under the weight of its own pretentiousness. Diegrinder was officially birthed in January 1997. Earlier starts were stalled by lineup changes and the typical insanity. Settled with the line-up of Adam Till on guitar & vocals, John Lehl on drums and Hank Pardike on bass, Diegrinder were ready to steamroll ahead. Influenced by the classic rock & metal they grew up with along with trailblazers Helmet, Quicksand, Monster Magnet and Soundgarden the next few years saw Diegrinder play numerous shows throughout Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Illinois and the recording of a self-tited demo and also debut album The Past To Rest. The shows and album saw much favorable press with a particularly glowing review from the always critical Metal Maniacs. By 2002 Diegrinder had thrown down their follow up EP Goin' Down which again garnered many great reviews. The new disc showed much more of a sludgy side to the band while still maintaining their rock roots. By this time Diegrinder had played well over a hundred shows, even without extensive touring, and shared the stage with a diverse group of bands including Electric Wizard, Monster Magnet, Disengage, Backyard Babies and the Bad Brains to name just a few. By the end of the year they decided to add a second guitar player to the mix and Steve Kapo was hauled on board. With influences such as Kiss, Alice Cooper & Black Sabbath, Diegrinder had found a kindred spirit who did not alter the bands diverse sound but instead added a crushing depth to the overall mix. He was also a great fucking guitar player. Tons of new songs were worked up and by the spring of 2003 Diegrinder went into the studio to record what would become Detroit On Fire!. Detroit On Fire! truly showcases the Diegrinder mantra of "Gibsons, Marshalls & feedback". ...

Being a singer and musician has always been in my blood. Coming from a musical family where my parents sang, my brothers, 4 out of 5 of them, all play instruments. It was clearly in the genes that I would be a singer & musician too. I decided to start backwards with my bio because thinking of what to write from the beginning of my life seems too boring. Right now, I am working toward getting a band together to play at different christian locations. I have been working with a praise team band, but that is just during the church services. I can feel my spirit wanting so much more than that. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of people that sing at church, but I can feel God pulling me toward writing more original music, recording and playing out where I am needed. God uses all of us to be his voice. We have a responsibility to use our voices for His highest good.

Most recently was a Praise Concert in November 2007. It was put together for the memory of a boy who died in a car accident. I felt honored to be a part of that concert because the message was that his spirit lives on with Jesus. I chose to sing, "Padre Nuestro, Our Father", "Truly, Truly I Say to You" and "Search". It felt great to make people smile and know that God's message was coming through me to them. At the same time, I feel somewhat guilty for getting busy with life and letting time go by without reaching my goal. Some may say that it wasn't in God's time because God has perfect timing. I would think that if I were meant to be playing from place to place already established with a band that God would have lead me to that. I do want to mention that I am a Mom and that I have a wonderful son. Guess what?! He sings too! I have taken him to nursing homes to sing with me, especially during the holidays. They loved him! That generation is adorable! They appreciate all that you do. I would play the guitar and sing music from the 1920's-50's, Broadway Show tunes and all different songs in several languages. I have not been to the nursing homes for awhile because I also went back into teaching. I am a Special Education teacher. One of my latest classrooms was a primary autistic class. I find it amazing to work with these kids. They are very close to God. Unless you have worked with an autistic child/person, it would be hard to imagine. It is like they have their own world, yet they are also in tune. They just operate in their own way. They love music too. So, I guess this is why I am not on the road singing everywhere. ...
