$6.35 The Almeria Club was a hard-edged, Alabama honky-tonk that was the site of a hot-tempered 1947 incident that became part of the lore of Hank Williams. More than 50 years later, Hank Jr. recorded an album in that very same notorious joint as a tribute to his father's rebel reputation. In keeping with the down-home ...

| | Hot Buttered Rum String Band In These Parts CD (2004)
I'm Gonna Stop Killing
$11.99 "Their original songs are instantly familiar and inviting." -SF Chronicle" . . . melds past and present with stunning instrumental and vocal virtuosity." -Relix Magazine"The band's rich and diverse musical background allows them to infuse a radical newness into the genre" -SF Bay GuardianWho are these guys? It's tough to sum up quickly (see below for extensive bios), but, in a nutshell, they're a group of onetime casual pickers who, one night at a party in Oakland, California, decided to start devoting their lives to music. Someone else in the kitchen was brewing a batch of Hot Buttered Rum, and the name just stuck. A taste, a texture, a temperature, an intoxication - warms you up and packs a punch. That's basically what HBRSB is all about. They'll butter your ears up with some sweet, sentimental singing, then flatten them back against your head with a scorching fiddle tune. Jazz, reggae, 80's pop - anything's game for this quintet, but they keep coming back to the well of folk and bluegrass to ground their sounds. Every one of them has a vocal mic, every one writes and contributes to the creative process. They absolutely love what they do, and it shows, both in their recorded and live performances."In These Parts," the group's first studio effort, was recorded in the personal studio of engineer Decibel Dave Dennison, renowned for his work on the Garcia/Grisman sessions. An expert with recording and mixing acoustic music, Db Dave was a perfect match for the group. With his expert assistance on all aspects of the production, the band has created an album that will grow with them even as they soar to new heights of musical ecstasy.Read on for in-depth bios - Bryan ...

| | Embers Of Euphoria CD (2007)
I'm Gonna Stop Killing
$13.15 Embers of Euphoria was born in San Francisco, CA in mid-2001 with J. Ramada, whose written material at the time sounded more along the lines of alternative rock than metal. Over the course of the next few years, the riffs slowly took on more of a metal feel. By applying the influences of thrash, progressive, and other styles of music, the songs became more complex and melodic. The Blood Eagle came into the picture around 2003, and by early 2004 the sound of Embers of Euphoria had been refined. Around that same time, Jared Agius joined the band. The band did had a different vocalist and second guitarist at the time (from the original lineup with whom they've parted ways), but moved forward by putting J. Ramada on the vocal task and recruiting Wolfgang for the second guitarist position. It is now 2008 and the journey seems to be gaining momentum, and with their self-titled debut, Embers of Euphoria now have the firepower to make a definite impact in the metal world.Album Reviews: Zero Magazine- Aug 2007Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. I have long ignored this band and never really thought twice about it until a local promoter told me I should check them out. This may be the single greatest sounding self- release I've ever heard. It's obvious these guys spent a lot of time and money ...
