While Masta Killa may be the last of the Wu-Tang Clan's nine original members to come out with a solo record, he does so in style. On the critically acclaimed PRETTY TONEY ALBUM, Ghostface opened by assuring the public that the Wu-Tang family was still intact and working on new material, but not one of the Staten Island crew made an appearance on that disc. Masta Killa's defiantly titled, long-awaited debut, NO SAID DATE, features a reunion of sorts, boasting every single Wu member, and even bringing estranged cousins RZA and Ol' Dirty Bastard together on the funky "Old Man."
However, before the Wu-Tang gang starts making cameos en masse, Masta Killa reminds listeners that he didn't wait this long because he lacks talent of his own, and he opens the album with four strictly solo tracks. From the hazy funk of "Grab the Microphone," Killa launches into the brash, RZA-produced title track, which deftly turns the long-time-coming nature of the release on its ear ("'When ya droppin'? No said date?premeditated, calculated"). A welcome first outing by an often-overlooked Wu-Tang member, NO SAID DATE is a notable release for both Masta Killa and the entire Wu-Tang unit.
This 60+ minute DVD showcases Masta Killa performing some of the gems from the album of the same name along with many of his unforgettable classics as a member of the Wu-tang Clan. Also featured are Ghostface, RZA, GZA, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and DJ Mathematics performing live and behind the scenes. The bonus audio disc contains many rare and unreleased Masta Killa tracks pulled from the Wu-tang vaults plsu a sneak peek at MK's forthcoming album Made in Brooklyn.
Includes a bonus DVD.

Masta Killa comes with it!! This is the album that every Wu fan has been waiting for. There has been a series of lackluster releases, Deck, Raekwon, Ghost's last two albums. This one is probably the best Wu-Tang solo project since Supreme Clientele. With production from Mathematics, Tru-Master, and RZA, this is a more of a back to basics album that reminds you why you listened to Wu-Tang for ten years. This is the best album I've heard in 2004. | | Chelsea City Council Everything At Once CD (2007)
No Said Date songs
$12.65 Boston Globe Article on Aug.14, 2007 sums up the Council and it's creator Bart Steele..."Late-blooming rock 'n' roll musician (and multi-instrumentalist) Bart Steele...has adopted Chelsea as home, inspiration, and cause. Using his music as a megaphone, Steele has emerged as a kind of civic cheerleader for a city that can use all the boosters it can get. "I just love this town," he declares. How much? Well, he named his band the Chelsea City Council. He wrote two songs on his upcoming album about events in Chelsea's history, including "Can't Keep Me Down," inspired by the Great Chelsea Fire of 1908, which nearly destroyed the city physically and psychologically. For several years, he has taken on the labor-intensive task of helping organize the entertainment for the Chelsea River Revel, an annual festival whose proceeds benefit nonprofit groups seeking to clean up Chelsea's waterfront.(Steele) has become a regular performer in Chelsea and beyond, where he takes advantage of his performer's pulpit to talk up this much-maligned municipality. "Every time I've seen Bart play, he always talks highly of Chelsea, always says 'Don't believe all the negative aspects you're hearing about Chelsea,' " says Roseann Bongiovanni, president of the (real) Chelsea City Council. "It's really nice to hear some body who's not originally from Chelsea really embracing the city."Steele is adding his high-energy personality to that burgeoning scene. Like a lot of the other artistic newcomers, he wants to be part of Chelsea's comeback...But the connection seems to run deeper. Perhaps Steele identifies with Chelsea's underdog struggle. After all...he is trying to forge a successful career in a notoriously youth-centric field. Yet his jaunty demeanor as he beckons a visitor into his low-ceiling basement studio seems to leave no room for the possibility of failure. The title of his album, due out Sept. 8, is "Everything at Once." It refers both to his own attention-deficit disorder ("I call it ADD rock," he jokes) and to the sometimes-erratic appetite for experience that has made Steele's life such a bumpy ride. "This is about my life, doing a million things at once, how fun and exhausting it is," he says. "Every couple of years, I overextend myself."This may be one of those times. In addition to writing all or part of 11 of the dozen ...
