Guess Who X2
IF you are a Guess Who fan, this album is slightly different from the earlier works but is a great complement to a Guess Who collection. My favorite is "One Way Road To Hell". Check it out.

Finally Available Again!
The Guess Who has remained one of those ironies of the music business -- even with frequent changes in personnel, the quality was always present, but not the commercial success that far lesser talents have achieved. This group (or groups) of guys have never gotten the credit they deserved.
I have been hoping for years that some of these albums would be re-released. I agree with the previous review about "Coors For Sunday" being a standout tune by this band, and I've never understood why it has never made any of the numerous compilations that have been released over the years. It is one of the songs that made me buy this offering.
I don't agree that "Road Food" was the last great recording by this band. I don't hear any drop-off at all in "POWER IN THE MUSIC." In fact, I think the album picks up right where "ROAD FOOD" left off, and demonstrates some maturity and blossoming of new abilities for the band. Overall, this may be the most talented single lineup of the band.
Together, these two albums on one CD represent a tremendous amount of great rock 'n' roll that too often does not receive its due recognition. Get it!!!

Classic Cuts redux
The very first band that caught my attention and introduced me to the rock and roll world was The Guess Who. I also remember reading about them in Cream Magazine which a friend of mine collected. This issue of "Road Food" replaces an older remaster which quickly sold out. "Road Food" (1974) was the last great lp released by the band and features two hits, Starbaby and Clap for the Wolfman which can still be heard on the classic hits radio format. "Power In The Music" (1975) while not a solid effort from the band does offer a few bright moments. The most notable song, Coors For Sunday, is a journey into a dark bluesy, lounge sound. It was also the last album recorded by the band with Burton Cummings at the helm. Even today I still enjoy pulling these little gems out to listen to. They sure don't make music like this anymore.
