| | Best Of The Guess Who CD (1977) Bonus Tracks
Theatre Brook album
$6.79 (MP3 Available for Download) The Guess Who always seemed a bit like the Canadian predecessor/counterpart to Grand Funk Railroad, but they typically fared far better with the critics because of the versatility that they possessed. That trait is very evident on this collection of hits and great songs. From the opening "These Eyes," with its orchestral strings and Zombies-like baroque pop feel to the classic AOR crunge of "American Woman," the Guess Who played a wide variety of music. It is sometimes hard to believe that the same group that brought the world the jazzy "Undun" and the CS&N-ish hippie anthem "Share the Land" is also responsible for the rocking "No Time." This 11-track collection paints a very entertaining picture of a mutli-talented band and is a perfect introduction for the casual fan. ~ Gary Hill and Tim Sendra
Digitally remastered by Joe Lopes (December, 1987, RCA Recording Studios, New York).

| | Celtic Thunder The Show CD (2008)
Theatre Brook songs
$13.65 (MP3 Available for Download) CELTIC THUNDER THE SHOW, the audio companion for the popular PBS television special, showcases the five Irish vocalists in their ideal setting, a stage in Dublin. Celtic Thunder thrives on the contrast of its various voices (four tenors and a baritone) creating a surreal musical landscape. Paul Byrum's assured operatic tones on "Remember Me (Recuerdeme)" crest against the doleful pop of Ryan Kelly's "Desperado" and the nascent rumble of Darien McGinty on "Come By the Hills." The concert is tied together by the steady hand of songwriter/pianist Phil Coulter, who also produced the show.
Creator: Sharon Browne.
Arrangers: Dave Gold; Michael Keeney; Phil Coulter.
Personnel: Brendan Monaghan (whistling, pipe, bodhran); Ivan Gilliland (guitar, mandolin); Alan Barr (pipe, drums); Dave Cooke (keyboards); Nicky Scott (double bass, bass guitar); Liam Bradley (drums).
Recording information: Amberville Studios, County Antrim; WindMill Lane Studios, Dublin, Ireland.

| | PIVIRAMA In My Mind CD (2009) Reissue
Theatre Brook CD music
$13.49 Like an Italian PJ Harvey, Pivirama's founder and frontwoman, Raffaella, prefers plumbing the darker, more sexually frank, and sordid side of rock. IN MY MIND, the follow-up to 2005's COSA SEMBRA, revels in back-alley moodiness, borrowing the atmosphere of trip-hop but spiking it regularly with loud outbursts of guitar and drum tumult. "In My Mind" rides a jazzy, swinging drumbeat, while electric violin colors "Quello Che Sembra." Unifying it all are Raffaella's intensely felt vocals.
Personnel: Rafaella Daino (vocals, guitar); Manfredi Tumminello (guitar); BJM Mario Bajardi (violin, keyboards, synthesizer); Danilo Impastato (bass guitar); Angelo Bordonaro (drums).
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.
