| | Mr C The Slide Man Cha-Cha Slide CD Single Mr C The Slide Man Discography of CDs
(18 Customer Reviews)
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. If you're looking for the infamous "Cha Cha Slide" song, this is where you'll find it. At first a Chicago phenomenon, the Cha-Cha Slide began strictly as a dance until early 2000 when Casper (aka Mr. C the Slide Man) wrote an accompanying song to go along with the dance à la "Macarena." By early 2001, Universal had picked up the album for national distribution, igniting a small yet ultimately insignificant craze throughout mainly the Midwest. Besides the title track, there isn't much reason to seek out this album since the rest is undeniably filler, most notably including variations on the title track. Novelty at its best and most commercial. ~ Jason Birchmeier Mr C The Slide Man Cha-Cha Slide Songs | 1. | Hardino Remix - (remix) | |

Novelty at its best and most commercial. ~ Jason Birchmeier Mr. C. The Slide Man is in fact Casper, a Chicago DJ who took clubgoers by storm with his "Cha-Cha Slide," an update of the "Electric Slide" dance craze. The album CHA-CHA SLIDE is full of variations on the steps that Mr. C patented, backed by the beats he put together to move the dancers' feet. The success of the album is unusual, as it's not really a pop record per se, but a dance album in the very literal sense of the word. Instead of offering club-style vocalizing, the canny Casper simply intones his directions on how to do ...
| | Disco Dance CDs (2001)
Cha-Cha Slide
$9.09 By the late '90s Sony had begun to introduce budget sets that raided their vaults and often arbitrarily grouped songs together for mass consumption. Hits of the 80s, Vol. 1 and Forever Soul were two of the worst offenders. By 2001, the label decided to make better use of the CD time constraints by extending the running time of each disc. Make no mistake, Disco Dance is far from comprehensive set; often the tracks aren't even disco. This overview mines the up-tempo 1974-1999 tracks that first appeared on CBS, then Sony labels, and whatever songs the label acquired over the years. Some of the better tracks, like Gary's Gang's "Keep on Dancing," Jackie Moore's "This Time Baby," Denience Williams' "I Got the Next Dance," and the potent yet nearly gauche the Isley Brothers "It's a Disco Night" certainly don't usually make like-minded compilations. While far from the Studio 54 days, Der Kommissar's "After the Fire" and the Romantics "Talking in Your Sleep" will rock any dance floor. The superior DJ Mix of C&C Music Factory's "Gonna Make You Sweat" is the only '90s offering here that doesn't seem faceless or synthetic. Although the no-frills presentation of this leaves a lot to be desired, Disco Dance does include some interesting mixes. A tight and rare edit of "Dazz" from Brick and ...
| | Radiohead Com Lag (2plus2isfive) CD (2004) Digipak; Extended Play
Cha-Cha Slide
$11.35 2007 reissue of the EP originally released in 2004 as a Japanese-only special collection to celebrate the Japanese leg of Radiohead's concert tour to promote the album "Hail To the Thief". Demand for the set was so high that EMI was forced to release the disc in the UK for a short time. This enhanced mini-album features hard to find single b-sides (treasured by most Radiohead fans), rare live tracks and remixes!
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Useful only to the most devoted Radiohead followers (who will probably have most of the contents to begin with), Com Lag is a patchwork of live material, remixes, B-sides, and other assorted scraps. Naturally, the release isn't nearly as cohesive as Hail to the Thief; its apparent intent is to supply the fans with another stream of the band's recordings, regardless of both how they fit together and how mixed the tracks are to begin with. The B-sides aren't nearly as solid as the ones collected on the Airbag/How Am I Driving EP, not to mention most of the intervening extras that trickled out between that release and this one -- though the live, solo piano version of Amnesiac-era B-side "Fog" is a definite standout, and the likes of "Paperbag Writer," "I Am Citizen Insane," and "Gagging Order" are hardly throwaways. A Cristian Vogel remix of "Myxomatosis" is far more nerve-racking than the original, full of clattering percussion; Thom Yorke's vocals are placed higher in the mix and possibly multi-tracked to make them sound ...
| | Genesis Turn It On Again: The Hits CDs (1999) Remastered
Cha-Cha Slide
$17.05 Genesis: Peter Gabriel (vocals, flute); Phil Collins (vocals, drums); Ray Wilson (vocals); Mike Rutherford (guitar, bass); Steve Hackett (guitar); Tony Banks (keyboards); Nir Zidkyahu (drums). Additional personnel: Andy Richard, Gerry Hughes, Jamie Muhoberac. Producers include: Trevor Horn, David Hentschel, Genesis, Hugh Padgham, Nick Davis. Engineers include: David Hentschel, Hugh Padgham, Nick Davis. Genesis: Tony Banks (keyboards); Mike Rutherford (bass guitar); Phil Collins (drums). Additional personnel: Peter Gabriel (vocals); Steve Hackett (guitars); Anthony Phillips. This 2007 limited edition release expands the original 1999 greatest-hits compilation into a two-disc, 34-track, digitally remastered extravaganza. Bonus tracks include "Counting Out Time," from the Peter Gabriel era, and "Pigeons" from the rare-ish SPOT THE PIGEON EP. Originally, there were plans for two Genesis box sets -- one covering the classic Peter Gabriel era, the other chronicling the band's development into hit-makers under the direction of Phil Collins. The Gabriel set was released in 1998, but instead of a second box following it in 1999, the single-disc Turn It on Again: The Hits appeared. Truth be told, it was a wise move, because even if the Collins set appears, there will be a market for a concise collection of ...
