Five Iron Frenzy End Is Here Songs End Is Here Music Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews A perfect ending! I think that this is FIF'S best cd ever! All of their cd's are good, but this one stands out from the bunch. Its sad that they had to break up,I'm sure they would of made an even better album. The greatest ever this clearly is the best cd out thier. the lyrics are unbelievable. I enjoyed FIF:2 Electric boogaloo (or however you spell it) but this cd is way better. i highly recommend it. Submitted by Greg (Livermore, CA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A Glorious Exit Five Iron goes out in style with "The End is Here". One CD is a full recording of their final live tour including most of their greatest numbers spanning the band's eight-year career. The other CD is an all-new album previously available only on the tour.
Without question their best work yet, the music has more of a rock slant to it and the lyrics remain unbeatable.
Several songs are about the end of the band. "That's How the Story Ends" wraps up all the various goofy songs from earlier albums. "It Was Beautiful" looks back on the bands eight years together. And finally, "See The Flames Begin To Crawl" is a classic Five Iron song all about them destroying their instruments as the band breaks up.
For lighter fare, the CD offers "At Least I'm Not Like All Those Other Guys" about how the band has grown old but not grown up and "Wizard Needs Food, Badly" about how the world misunderstands nerds.
The album also includes much heavier fare such as "American Kryptonite" a faux-metal song about consumerism in America and "Anchors Away" about the way we are swayed by the way news is reported.
Finally, the album ends with an uplifting praise song "On Distant Shores" complete with the praise chorus from "Every New Day".
I highly recommend any of Five Iron's work, but this album especially. For fans it's a must have as it completes and summarizes everything the band has done. For those who have never heard Five Iron before, start here. You get live versions of some of their best stuff plus their latest and greatest. I guarantee you'll be hooked. | | Motograter CD (2003)
End Is Here
$8.39 The aggressive post-grunge thrash of Motograter's self-titled debut is easily derivative of new-millennium alt-metal. Led by the hungry growl of Ghost, Motograter is typically critical of social norms and American capitalism, and such anger carries the band's tantrum-like playing style. The 22-track album consists of 11 songs spelled correctly, while their snippet sequels are fillers with backwards titles, and ...

| | Trembling Blue Stars Last Holy Writer CD (2007) (Import) United Kingdom
End Is Here
$15.25 Truth be told, the Trembling Blue Stars routine was getting kind of stale by the release of Seven Autumn Flowers in 2004. With that album they crossed the line that divides reliable and predictable; no longer did the morose lyrics, melancholy vocals, minor chords and cheesy synths make a positive impression. Luckily for fans of the band, The Last Holy Writer is a comeback of sorts, certainly an improvement, and maybe even one of their finest records. How did they do it? It's hard to say because on the surface it seems like not much has changed sound or mood-wise. There's still a preponderance of downbeat lyrics and Bob Wratten hasn't suddenly ...

End Is Here
$10.79 The popular and pioneering new age label Windham Hill comes along to stake its claim in the somewhat hazy style known as chill-out, a stylistic trend that commonly goes hand in hand with slow hip-hop beats, breathy female vocals, and cozy atmospheric touches. Windham Hill Chill: Ambient Acoustic features material with a similar desired effect that doesn't have very much in common with chill-out. This is a two-disc set separated into ambient and acoustic sets and, surprisingly enough, the inclusions are presented in a continuous mix -- just like the hundreds of chill-out-themed compilation albums that were populating record store bins at the time of its release. The ambient disc features songs from Yanni ("To the One Who Knows"), Tangerine Dream ("Cool at Heart"), David Arkenstone ("Into the Dreamtime"), and Ravi Shakar's "Ragas in Minor Scale." On the acoustic disc, ...
