VERY ENJOYABLE CD!!!
Some people think that all music has to be art. Others realize that music can also be just for fun and pleasurable listening. This album falls into the latter category. It isn't art, but it is a lot of fun and it is very pleasurable to listen to.
I have read some reviews wherein people have criticized some of the AI finalists vocal performances here. I say "Give 'em a break, people!" ALL of the contestants do extremely well on this CD, including much aligned John Stevens, Jasmine Trias, and Camile Velasco. The worst track and performance here, if we have to name one, is undoubtedly Matt Rogers' cover of "Sittin' On The Dock of The Bay." The song and the singer just do not fit together very well. The arrangement is perhaps what makes the song so bad! BUT...not suprisinly, the highlights are Jennifer Hudson's excellent take on Gladys Knight's "Neither One of Us," La Toya London's version of "If You Don't Know Me By Now," and "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" by Diana DeGarmo. That said... give this CD a spin. Allow yourselves to enjoy it for what it is, and you will be impressed. I certainly have been!
