| | Elvis Presley ELV1S: 30 # 1 Hits CD (2002) Remastered
Speed TV songs
$10.39 Includes liner notes Peter Guralnick and Ernst Mikael Jorgensen.
Commemorating the 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, 30 #1 HITS presents a career-spanning serving of the King's chart-toppers.
Dating back to "Heartbreak Hotel" (which was inspired by a suicide note printed in the Miami Herald), most of these cuts have become indelibly etched into the fabric of pop culture and each has a unique story behind it. "Love Me Tender" has its origins in the Civil War ballad "Aura Lee," "It's Now Or Never" found Elvis Americanizing the Neapolitan ballad "O Sole Mio," and "Wooden Heart" likewise was converted from a German children's song.
This Memphis native's choice of artists to cover was equally intriguing and includes Hollywood legend Al Jolson ("Are You Lonesome Tonight?"), New Orleans soul shouter Smiley Lewis ("One Night"), ...

Digitally remastered by George Horn (1995, Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California).
Guided, perhaps, by musical snobbery or roots-rock phobia, some people inexplicably don't like Creedence Clearwater Revival. As the kings of earnest country-inflected rock in an age when radical stances were de rigueur, CCR sported straight-ahead tunes, and may have seemed a bit unhip. But their music stands the test of time with a vengeance. For the doubtful listener, this outstanding, 20-track hits collection has evidence of their greatness in staggering abundance.
Though they produced several excellent albums, Creedence was predominantly a singles ...

Speed TV CD music
$16.45 Nervewreck is what happens when all the problems, all the questions, about our human relationships, that constantly plague our minds, are expressed in the form of music.Punk-ish...but not punk. Contemporary...but not slavishly trendy. Hip, new, indie-rock band, Nervewreck, was formed in Houston in 2004 by a group of seasoned young musicians who, first, fine-tuned their craft as members of a variety of other "space city" rock bands, such as December's Child, Seres Occultus, Chlorine, Lovestar and Cure tribute band "The Cured". Brandon's "shadows and lights" imagery, in words and melodies from the heart, are vivid snapshots of life's emotional ups and downs that we can all relate to. What seem, at first glance, to be fairly simple, familiar lyric constructions, on further examination are found to contain intriguing layers of thought and emotion, and refreshingly new paths of expression. His frenetic energy on stage expresses these visions in motion. Anthony's blazing, bombastic guitar, Andy's powerhouse drumming, and Eric's melodic punk/rock guitar crunch provide the pounding, yet subtle, dynamic foundation that gives Nervewreck it's breathless, non-stop, "grab-the-edge-of-your-seat" pulse. With their own, electric, energizing ...
