First off, The Outernational Sound is proof that Thievery Corporation are cool, know their stuff, and have great taste. The tracks they've selected for this mix are more organic than expected, filled with sitars, sambas, and analog dubs with very little you'd think was electronica. Hipsters call this slapping of old jazz, reggae, and R&B records on the turntable "rare groove," and you've got to do a lot of homework to not come off as a charlatan. The duo never come off as anything but smart lovers of groovy music, the quirkier the better. The problem is that the mix isn't seamless and some of the transitions are downright jarring. The Corp's own "Richest Man in Babylon" is a tripped-out highlight -- a high compliment considering it keeps company with killers from Boozoo Bajou and Beatfanatic -- but Delroy Wilson's excellent "Better Must Come" just stumbles out of it. Tracks mix better during the album's softer beginning, but as a whole this sounds more like a cool radio station than someone trying to tell a story with two turntables. many genres, a melding of diverse vocals/beats & tracks 11 to 16 could have been excluded.....interesting but the order of the tracks was off.....

 one of the best label tha thievery corporation ever made..
I'm many years fanof T.C. and i have all their albums...but this one is amazing!!!the're specialists of making such so lovely labels,specially this one which has so many different type sof music...can't wait for their next (personal) album!

Interesting...
to say the least. It wasn't what I expected, but good music nevertheless. I like the 2nd half of the cd better than the first which was too "jazzy" for me.

WOW! Compared to other albums Thievery Corporation has done, this one is mind-boggling. This is the type of album that will be played for years to come, if you have an open approach to music, you will love the journey this one takes you on, get it!!!

A presumably final punctuation mark on Galaxie 500's work, Copenhagen, released in 1997, is actually a recording from the last date of the band's late 1990 European tour, captured for radio broadcast in the Danish capital in front of a vocally appreciative crowd. One main reason to listen in is hearing how the band's studio approach clearly differed from the concert arena -- while Kramer handles the live sound, the cocooning web of reverb familiar from the records isn't present here.
