$11.49 what up what up...this is Blu Crush AKA Dozzieloc. I've only been free 2 & 1/2 years since I turned 21. I've done Oregon State Penitentiary, Santiam Correctional Facility, Mill Creek Correctional Facillity, Oregon State Correctional Institution, 2000 & 3000 Men's Central Los Angeles County Jail, Medium North at Wayside Los Angeles County Jail, Supermax at Wayside Los Angeles County Jail, been extradicted on a chain county to county all the way up I-5 (back to Oregon). I've done Clackamas County Jail, Justice Center Multnomah County Jail, to Inverness Jail Multnomah County, and the old Farm in my Hometown (P.O.)...The purpose of the JAIL HOUSE DREAMS project is to express the reality of the oppression experienced daily inside these walls & on these unforgiving streets. You see this system is an organized form of oppression derived from slave owners older than a couple of centuries. 50-60 years ago we couldn't share a drinking fountiain...we coudn't even share a drinking fountian. So yeah, they might have abolished slavery OK, but instead the same bigots that fueled this hatred now take it upon themselves to take positions of power excercising the hatred they have been brainwashed to believe by their fathers and their father's fathers. Which is a hell of a lot worse than the brother's nickel and dime hustlin to feed they kids cuz there is no other way to survive. No other way to survive. No other way to buy pampers. no other way to put food on the table. Hustle or Die, literally. So when I say squares don't know I really mean DON'T KNOW. Everytime we go to jail we got to start all over. With nothing. SQUARES DON'T KNOW. I spent years telle to telle hustlin to keep shelter. Day to day off a 50 bubble, they just don't know. So yeah they abolished slavery OK, whatever, they just legalized it. You know, made it politically correct. Now they harass us, arrest us, tag and transfer us and have us work for almost nothing. Now they have developed a so called legal form, from working in the kitchen, to the clothing room, to road work they have us laboring. No matter who you are if you're poor they try to keep someone above you. Men got PO'S and women got welfare workers. The system is a trap, & they keep jails full. Every head on a bed they collect $ from the Feds. $ per day and $ per transfer. Go on and add it up that's thousands a bus. The poor stay poor the rich stay rich off the poor. The truth is the truth it's just reality... I guess they got no respect for life.To my gangstas on lock down walk it down. To my hustlas on the block stay low key & keep an eye out for these crooked police. Most importantly to the young homies YG's & BG's take your life seriously. Stay out the way. make something of yourselves you are the future, & the only way the system will change. Make good decisions. Learn from those that have experienced the oppression of the system and stay out of it. This is very important. It does not make you a square if you focus on school & make ...
| | L'Tanya Mari' A Teardrop Of Sun CD (2009)
Demos CD music
$18.99 Press Reviews: In listening to L'Tanya Mari's debut CD A Teardrop Of Sun, one is first struck by the beauty of her voice. The next reaction is admiration for her ability to make the difficult interval jumps on Bill Evans' 'Very Early' sound effortless. By the time Ms. Mari' has displayed her versatility on Milton Nascimento's 'Nothing Will Be As It Was' (great long tones) and the swing standard 'I Gotta Right To Sing The Blues,' she has won over both this listener and most likely every audience. There are many fine female jazz singers on the scene today but, with the release of A Teardrop Of Sun, L'Tanya Mari' immediately emerges as one of the top contenders. It is not just that she has an inspired repertoire (from Chick Corea's 'Crystal Silence' and 'This Is New' to 'That Old Black Magic'), impeccable intonation and a pretty voice. Most impressive are her choice of notes, her use of space and silence, and her intelligent way of improvising melodically. She pays tribute to each composer's intent while uplifting each tune through her phrasing, subtle emotions, and solid sense of swing. A variety of instrumentations are utilized on this CD, from a rhythm section and guest appearances by one horn soloist to tasteful duets with pianist Harry Appelman and guitarist Paul Wingo. A very well-conceived set, L'Tanya Mari's A Teardrop Of Sun is one of the finest vocal releases of 2009.-Scott Yanow, Jazz Critic I keep listening to A Teardrop ...
