With the musical Mama Mia selling tickets so strongly in 2005 that it seems destined for a Broadway run through at least 2009, it's easy to forget the existence of the singers who were ABBA. My Colouring Book was Agnetha Faltskog's new album for 2004, and it's distinctly in a pop vein, comprised of music that she's known throughout her life, starting with the Kander & Ebb title track. Even her rendition of Jackie DeShannon's "When You Walk in the Room," despite a heavy beat from Dan Stromkvist and some highly amplified guitar playing from Magnus Bengtsson, is very orchestra-heavy. Though the settings in no way parallel anything done by ABBA, Falktskog's voice retains the simple purity of tone and expression that she brought to the group's sound 30 years earlier, enough so that serious fans are likely to enjoy this CD, especially attributes such as her stripped-down rendition of "Fly Me to the Moon" and her covers of standards such as "Sealed With a Kiss" and "The End of the World." The sound is excellent and the playing is impeccable, in settings that range from an instrument or two right up to a full band and orchestra accompaniment. ~ Bruce Eder

Still sounds good Abba Fans will instantly reconize the voice because she still sounds fantastic after all these years. A more mature sound then the old Pop days of ABBA but over all still a very good CD.

Excellent. Her voice is surperb still ! Wow. She just keeps getting better. Can't believe how good this CD is.
My wife was amazed also. Since I'm a few years younger than Agnetha, and a contemporary of hers, these songs, for the most part, were known to me. Her cover versions were excellent. Simple and clean music. Not too much accompanyment and not needed. She still sounds like a teenager - amazing.
Keep up your amazing comeback, Agnetha, this is great stuff.

What was that name again? Agnetha Faltskog's name may not ring a bell, but her voice should. She fronted ABBA for a decade or more, and on this CD she is in fine form as she journeys thru a collection of 60's classics, tearjerkers and ballads. The arrangements are rich, varied, melodramatic, capricious and glittering - enough like ABBA to please her old fans, and distinctive enough to gain her some new ones. "When You Walk In The Room" rocks. "If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind" is gorgeous. In "Past Present And Future" her speaking voice is riveting. The very heavy finale, "What Now My Love", is probably the best cut, with its U2-sounding guitars and persistent drum beat. All in all, well done and welcome back, Agnetha. This album should be an international smash. It will be, if taste prevails. Submitted by stevenx9 (Mandeville, LA USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
I love it!!! I love Agnetha Fältskog, she is a great singer and it was so brilliant she did a comeback. She still has such an amazing voice and some of the songs on it are great. $14.55 Anyone who makes a living from Latin music can tell you that the Latin market isn't just one monolithic market; it's actually a lot of different markets and different niches -- markets like the regional Mexican market (norteño, banda, mariachi, ranchera, tejano), the tropical market (salsa, merengue, and cumbia), the Spanish flamenco market, and the Brazilian market (which includes a seemingly endless list of Brazilian styles). Artists with a Mexican orientation are well aware of the fact that there's a fortune to be made from the regional Mexican market alone; it's doubtful that los Tigres del Norte are losing any sleep over the fact that they're selling more CDs in East L.A. than in Miami's Little Havana section (where Cuban listeners are more likely to be into salsa). But at the same time, Fonovisa no doubt likes the fact Mexican superstar ...

$13.05 This album is a tribute to, and in memory of, "DIMEBAG" DARRELL. It was absolutely one of his favorite projects. He loved the people involved and the music that transpired.Rebel Meets Rebel is not only the title of the CD, but the most apt description of what you are about to hear. There is no other music like it in the world. It is a combination of one of the world's greatest Heavy Metal Bands and David Allan Coe, one of the world's most outspoken, hell raizin, country outlaws of the past century. The combination of DAC and CFH (Cowboys from Hell) is explosive and works flawlessly to produce a new musical genre as yet un-named.Get ready for a hell raizin' time ... the boys are kickin' ass!!!!
Rebel Meets Rebel: Rex Brown (bass guitar); David Allan Coe, Dimebag Darrell, Vinnie Paul. Personnel: David Allan Coe (vocals); Dimebag Darrell (guitar); Vinnie Paul (drums). Additional personnel: Joey Floyd (fiddle); Rex Mauney (keyboards); Hank Williams III (background vocals). Recording information: Chasin Jason Studios, Dalworthington Gardens, TX (1999-2003). Photographer: Chad Lee. In the 1970s, you had "outlaw country," in the '80s, "cowpunk," but they'll need a new and original stylistic descriptor for 2006's REBEL MEETS REBEL, a no-holds-barred collaboration between hard-living, outlaw country legend David Allan Coe and three-quarters of Texas thrash-metal heroes Pantera. Recorded before Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott's shocking onstage murder in 2004, this album matches Abbott's slamming metal riffs with Coe's unapologetic tough-guy stance, a combination ...
