Ayreon Human Equation Songs Human Equation Music Review Average Rating: (4.9 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews What a masterpiece in musicianship I am very new to Ayreon I only found out about Ayreon by accident when I stumbled across the day eleven single in JB HI FI with the name James Labrie on the front sticker (im a big DT fan) this album is a masterpiece in musicianship. The amount of talent this guy has not only in his musicianship but in the way he writes and orchestrates his songs.
It was interesting to see how he composed almost the entire album with guest appearances, and a relatively unknown singer / musician. The bonus DVD give a great insight to how the album was created.
I think James did a great job, its really nice to hear the soft melodic side to his voice rather than his usual Dream Theater voice. Being an Australian I was surprised to hear the didgeridoo on the second disc. I loved it. If you love prog rock, mix that with a little orchestral arrangements and a massive amount of talent on behalf of all musicians, then there it is Ayreon The Human Equation.

Felicitaciones! Submitted by dios_eol (Antofagasta, Chile) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Outstanding By far the most polished work released by Ayreon to date. This release simply oozes talent and class from all the artists involved, Arjen's choice of volcalists could not have been better!
Lots of catchy songs mixed in with many that will provide years of relistenability!
The bonus DVD on the special edition is also full of goodies for the fans and provides a great insight into the making of the album, as well as Arjen's own creative process and the "culture" of the team.
This will go down as one of the greatest albums ever produced :) Submitted by haxor (Sydney, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Human Equation album
$11.05 TRAIN OF THOUGHT continues the legacy of the progressive metal legends, with all the requisite superhuman metallic musicianship that their fans have come to expect. This outing continues in the heavier mode that began with 2002's SIX DEGREES OF INNER TURBULENCE, reaching even further into darker, personal lyrical themes.
Guitars are the dominant expressive voice here, with keyboards scaled considerably back from the signature Dream Theater sound. Band members Mike Portnoy (drums) and John Petrucci (guitar) continue their do-it-yourself production approach, opting for recording venues on ...
| | An Evening with John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess CD (2000)
Human Equation CD music
$10.75 Evening with John Petrucci & Jordan Rudess is an unheralded recording by Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment alumnus John Petrucci, and Jordan Rudess is a unique entry in the Dream Theater family discography. Recorded live in Nyack, New York, the duo performed a mixed set of acoustic and electric (guitar only) compositions. Both players are world-class musicians, but Rudess in particular demonstrates ...

With their progressive metal style and exceptional musicianship (learned at the Berklee School of Music) Dream
Theater grew to prominence with their MTV hit "Pull Me Under" in 1992. During that time Dream Theater developed
a rabid fan base that remains with them today-especially when it comes to their mind-blowing live shows.
This 2 DVD set, Images And Words: Live In Tokyo/5 Years In A LIVEtime, is a must-own for any Dream Theater fan. The

| | James Labrie Elements Of Persuasion CD (2005)
Human Equation songs
$15.35 Clichés have a way of being overused, but some of them are so darn accurate that it's hard not to come back to them again and again. One such cliché is, "The more things change, the more they stay the same." That cliché applies to politics and economics, and it most certainly applies to music; James LaBrie's third solo project, Elements of Persuasion, is a perfect example. This 2005 release worships, cherishes and adores rock's past without being totally enslaved by it, and like a lot of the neo-soulsters who have managed to link the '60s and '70s with the '90s and 2000s (Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, among others), LaBrie has no problem drawing on different eras for inspiration. But the Dream Theater vocalist has nothing to do with R&B; his turf is hard rock, metal and progressive rock, and Elements of Persuasion is an album with both pre-Nevermind and post-Nevermind components. ...

| | Impellitteri Pedal To The Metal CD (2005)
Human Equation music CDs
$15.15 Like the non-evil twin of Yngwie Malmsteen, veteran neo-classical six-string magician Chris Impellitteri is one of those rare guitar heroes capable of restraint when he sets his mind to it -- no mean feat in a category virtually defined by noodling excess. Indeed, his attention to actual songcraft, as opposed to the flurry of notes contained in that small portion of music called the solo, is refreshing and inspiring, and leave one pining for the good old days of Gary Moore's metallic period, or even Malmsteen himself before he ran out of song ideas. Anyway, as hinted at in the title, Pedal to the Metal finds Impellitteri's eponymous band tackling numerous heavy metal subgenres -- not just his neo-classical specialty, of which the only clear examples here are the power metal-leaning "The Writing on the Wall" and the excellent "Destruction," which is an obvious knock-off of Malmsteen's "I'll See the Light Tonight," but a good one, at that! Beyond these, we have the speedy, trad-metal musicality of opening triplets "The Iceman Cometh," "The Kingdom of Titus (Tribute)" (featuring a distinct In Flames vibe), and "Dance With the Devil," followed by the groove-rounded alt metal of "Hurricane" (with low-end vocals reminiscent of Alice in Chains) and "Crushing Daze" (which splices a Pantera-like death ...
