Legend In My Time/Sound Of Country Music
$11.59 Personnel: Tony Orlando (vocals). Liner Note Author: Mark Marymont. Tony Orlando's early years as a teen idol may have yielded only a handful of minor hits, but his later fame with Dawn guaranteed that they would eventually be resurrected. "Bless You" was the biggest of Orlando's early charters, inching into the Top 15 in 1961. That song, as well as his other Epic recordings from 1961-1963, ...

| | Skeeter Davis Blueberry Hill/End Of The World CD (2004)
Legend In My Time/Sound Of Country Music
$11.19 2 LPs on 1 CD. BLUEBERRY HILL (1965)/THE END OF THE WORLD (1973). In 2004 Collectables combined Skeeter Davis' 1965 album Blueberry Hill and her 1973 album The End of the World on one disc. Blueberry Hill finds Davis firmly in country-pop territory. Her strong vocals are surrounded by strings and syrupy arrangements and many of the songs are simple and corny ("The Little Music Box," "Lost to a Geisha Girl"). Davis sounds fully invested in the songs, though, and her aching sound manages to overcome the less than invigorating surroundings. The best songs are those that she wrote or co-wrote herself. "Somebody Else on Your Mind," "Homebreaker," and the bleak "Give Me Death" are the least over-produced and therefore most honest sounding tracks here, and unsurprisingly perhaps Davis sounds the most ...

$17.15 Remastered 1997 reissue on the BGO label, with the originalartwork, for this 1973 album first released on Chrysalis.Features concert versions of 12 classics, including 'One OfThese Days', 'Good Morning Little Schoolgirl' and 'I'm GoingHome'.
2 LPs on 1 CD; the song "The Hobbit" is ommitted from the original LP release. Ten Years After: Alvin Lee (vocals, guitar); Chick Churchill (piano, organ); Leo Lyons (bass); Ric Lee (drums). Recorded live in Amersterdam and Rotterdam, The Netherlands; Frankfurt, Germany; Paris, France. This live set is OK in small doses. Ten Years After were always rooted in the blues, and the highlights here, such as "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" and "Slow Blues in C," show they hadn't changed. While this set is competent enough, there just isn't enough of the excitement you would expect coming from ...
| | Totally Country Vol. 2 CD (2002)
Legend In My Time/Sound Of Country Music
$8.99 The Now series of pop hit compilations, which began to be successful in the U.S. in 1998 after years of popularity overseas, led to other such collections, notably the rival Totally Hits series, which has in turn spawned genre-specific "Totally..." collections, including Totally Country, and this is the second volume. Like its many predecessors, it is distinguished by the unusual cooperation of record labels, with all five major labels and two independents contributing. But one significant difference between the pop collections and this one has to do with the currency of the material. The compilers of the Now albums are careful to use songs still in the charts when the disc is released. But Totally Country, Vol. 2 includes only four tracks that were active in the Billboard country singles chart on release day, only two of those, Montgomery ...
