Aside from being a great value with 24 somgs (2 LP's) on one CD, it's a super collection from among La Rosa's best recordings. La Rosa's dozen 'Love Songs A La Rosa' especially displayed the vocal qualities and delivery talent that placed La Rosa among the top male vocalists for tender love song inerpretation.

It's doubtful that anyone born after the '60s remembers Connie Francis well, despite the fact that she was a mega pop star during the late '50s and throughout the '60s. Albums like Sings Italian Favorites and More Italian Favorites sold faster than hotcakes at the local fire department fundraiser, making Concetta Rosemarie Franconero the forerunner to female performers like Madonna (though Francis' wardrobes tended to be more conservative). The 2004 release of these two albums will most strongly appeal to those who remember Francis from her heyday, and have been waiting for her many, many albums to be reissued. The songs, sung in English and Italian, and backed by a full orchestra, don't hold up in the way an Ella Fitzgerald recording ...

After the success of their previous remix album and This Island, it only made sense for Le Tigre to amass another collection of remixes. Focused predominantly on "Nanny Nanny Boo Boo" and "After Dark," this collection has moments on par with both of the aforementioned releases. Junior Senior's Metro Area-esque take on "Nanny Nanny Boo Boo" and Arthur Baker's take on the same track are both outstanding, canceling out some of the weaker moments, and A Touch of Class brilliantly end the session with their high-energy take on "After Dark."
