Based on a Broadway play, "Lovers and Other Strangers" takes a hilarious look at the generation gap and at the differing "love lifestyles" of the parents, friends and relatives at a young couple's wedding. Through a series of amusing vignettes, the film comically portrays old and new approaches to love and marriage. Diane Keaton makes her feature debut in this sexy comedy about a young couple who decide to marry after secretly living together for 18 months, though the groom is still unsure. They also discover their parents have sex-related secrets of their own. Academy Award Nominations: 3, including Best Supporting Actor--Richard Castellano, Best (Adapted) Screenplay. The feature film debut of Hayao Miyazaki (NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, PRINCESS MONONOKE), THE CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO depicts one adventure of the master thief Lupin and his rough-around-the-edges gunman, Jigen.
