A Santa's annual Christmas heist is threatened by a store manager. Stars Billy Bob Thornton, John Ritter. DVD special features include director's version, commentary, deleted scenes, outtakes, featurette, tribute to Ritter. Billy Bob Thornton is terrific as Willie T. Stokes, a lowlife department-store Santa in Terry Zwigoff's outrageous comedic follow-up to his offbeat hit GHOST WORLD. Every year, Stokes takes a job as Santa in a different place in order to rob the store he's working in. The diminutive Tony Cox plays his horny sidekick, Marcus, the real mastermind, who is even more foulmouthed than Stokes. Brett Kelly is Thurman Merman, an eight-year-old who desperately needs to believe in the real Santa Claus--and just might have a good enough heart to change Stokes's evil ways. Or maybe not. And Lauren Graham plays Sue, a young sexpot who wants to get a different kind of gift from Santa. Providing excellent comic relief in this black comedy is John Ritter, in his last film role, as the mousy mall manager, and Bernie Mac as Gin, the mall security guard who suspects something is not right. Be warned--BAD SANTA is not a family holiday movie. It is lewd, crude, and very funny, but it is most definitely not for children. Joel and Ethan Coen, the brothers behind such quirky hits as RAISING ARIZONA and BARTON FINK, are the executive producers who came up with the idea in the first place, influenced by the likes of THE BAD NEWS BEARS and SOUTH PARK. Theatrical Release: November 26, 2003 Badder Santa Reviews: "[T]ransgressive-comedy heaven."
-- Michael Atkinson, Movieline's Hollywood Life "BAD SANTA is a towering achievement: a dark, profane comedy about everything that's both right and wrong with the season of goodwill. Essential, dark-hearted Yuletide viewing for misanthropes everywhere."
-- Andrew Sumner, Uncut "...An achingly funny and corrupt dark comedy....Mr. Zwigoff has a taste for finding the dramatic power of self-loathing and making it entertainment..."
-- Elvis Mitchell, New York Times "...It unapologetically exults in its characters' glorious imperfection..."
-- Manohla Dargis, Los Angeles Times "...Billy Bob Thornton is sinfully funny....As slime personified, he's sublime..."
-- Peter Travers, Rolling Stone "There are 50 times more laughs here than in THE CAT IN THE HAT."
-- Mike Clark, USA Today "BAD SANTA is a demented, twisted, unreasonably funny work of comic kamikaze style."-- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times Badder Santa | List Price | $14.99 (You save $4.70) | | Studio | Buena Vista Home Entertainment | | Orig Year | 2003 | | All Time Sales Rank | 1249 | | CD Universe Part number | 6730775 | | Catalog number | 03651500 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Jun 22, 2004 | | Rating | Unrated | | Running Time | 91 Minutes | | Additional Info | Widescreen; Unrated | | Movie Details | Color; Widescreen; Unrated; Badder Santa: The Unrated Version |
Badder Santa Movie Review Average Rating: (3.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews A BAAAD MOVIE Saw Bad Santa and just had to get Badder Santa. The humour is very blue and droll, and Billy BT pulls it off brilliantly. There's a great ensemble of characters and it's a movie I'll watch many times. Kind of in the 'Clerks' vein. Literally BAD I missed out on some comedies in theatres so I was referred to this movie by someone who said it was funny. Ofcourse, funny movies always has an Unrated version which should be the only version out there, but I guess you need a reason to sell a movie that's this bad.
There was absolutely no point to the movie. From start to the end, it's just Billy Bob swearing alot and being a depressed alcoholic theif, who somehow gets away with things. The ending seemed to be patched together overnight because they ran out of time to tie all the loose ends and to try and explain the nonsense of the entire movie.
I thought Billy Bob was a good actor since I saw him in Armageddon, but he's just terrible. Not to say I don't love movies with swearing, but other movies that are actually funny that have swearing include Wedding Crashers, Tomcats, American Pie (1-3), Van Wilder.
This movie was such a waste of time. The ONLY thing I liked about the movie is the hott lady from Gilmour Girls. I was hoping to see her naked in this movie, but they don't quite show everything, even though she is one sexy fox. Submitted by Anonymous Reviewer (Toronto, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Hilarious Comedy!! Billy Bob steals the show in this movie. Everything in this movie was funny and the whole cast was perfect especially Billy Bob Thorton and the kid. There scenes together in the movie were priceless. You really can't pass up on this movie. It's really funny and has heart at the end of the movie. Best scene is when Billy Bob and the kid are driving with each other. The conversation with them is priceless. So add this movie to your dvd collection like I have. I'm pulling this movie out when christmas comes. Submitted by AJAY204182 (East Hanover, NJ, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Badder Santa DVD Badder Santa: The Unrated Version
Hollywood favorites Billy Bob Thornton (THE ALAMO), Bernie Mac (MR. 3000), and John Ritter (TV?s 8 SIMPLE RULES FOR DATING MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER) kick it up a notch in this unrated version of the outrageous comedy hit BAD SANTA. You'd better watch out -- Santa Claus Willie T. Stokes (Thornton) is coming to town and he doesn't care if you've been naughty or nice. Willie's favorite holiday tradition is to fill his sacks with loot lifted from shopping malls across the country. But this year his plot gets derailed by a wise-cracking store detective (Mac), a sexy bartender (Lauren Graham -- TV's GILMORE GIRLS), and a kid who's convinced Willie is the real Santa Claus! You're sure to believe in BADDER SANTA: THE UNRATED VERSION -- once you experience this longer, funnier, and more explicit motion picture!

$10.29 Turning up the style and energy levels that he kept under a threshold with 1997's JACKIE BROWN, Tarantino's obvious glee and reverence for the underground kung fu action pictures of the '70s, and Sergio Leone spaghetti westerns, makes for a stunning visual spectacle. Employing split screens, slow-motion, an anime sequence, and his trademark ultra-hip musical selections, Tarantino's film dares viewers to be unimpressed.
