Standard Screen; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Import In the tradition of "Two Moon Junction" and "Wild Orchid" comes "Zandalee," a heated melodrama about a New Orleans sex triangle that turns tragic.
Thierry Martin is a failed poet struggling to make a success out of the business he inherited from his father. His wife, Zandalee, runs a clothes shop and is left sexually unfulfilled because of her husband's mounting frustrations.
Enter Johnny Collins, an old friend of Thierry's and an impoverished painter. Thierry hires Johnny to do some odd jobs, but soon Johnny and Zandalee get busy eying each other. They become entangled in a torrid affair, and as the relationship intensifies, Thierry finds out what's going on behind his back. He decides not to confront Johnny and instead takes his wife down to the Louisiana bayou.
Obsessed with the alluring Zandalee, Johnny pursues them, putting all three on a collision course at least one person will not survive. Sam Pillsbury (KNIGHT RIDER 2010) directs this steamy Bayou drama about how poor, sex starved Zandalee has an affair with her husband's boyhood friend, Johnny (Nicolas Cage). You see, Zandalee's husband (Judge Reinhold) used to turn her on when he was a poet, but he wasn't a very good poet and now he's a business man and has no time for sex. Enter Johnny, and we have ourselves an extramarital affair. Strangely, both Judge Reinhold and Cage have mustaches in this film. I think that means something. $16.69 A man wakes in mid-afternoon in a grungy London apartment. A woman knocks at the door. He lets her in, to an awkward silence. She touches his face tenderly--almost immediately they have stripped and are making love on a mattress on the floor. It is the first of many intense, real-time, sexually explicit encounters between Jay (Mark Rylance) and Claire (Kerry Fox). And director Patrice Chéreau reinforces the intensity by keeping his wide-screen camera very close to the actors.
Jay and Claire agree to separate their meetings from the rest of their lives. But after one encounter, Jay follows Claire. He discovers that she acts in a basement theater, and is married to a taxi driver, Andy (Timothy Spall). Following her again, Jay loses her. And, in a reversal of roles--like that in Christopher Nolan's FOLLOWING--when she reemerges from a shop, she follows him. She is amused at first, ...

$10.55 Vincent Gallo shocked the 2003 Cannes Film Festival with this highly personal film that he wrote, directed, produced, edited, photographed, and stars in. Gallo plays Bud Clay, a motorcycle racer on his way from New Hampshire to California in a van. The cross-country trip includes stops at a gas station, where Clay meets and falls for a gas station attendant named Violet (Anna Vareschi); a roadside food stand, where he meets the sadly beautiful Lilly (Cheryl Tiegs, making her feature-film debut); and the Las Vegas strip, where he picks up local prostitute Rose (Elizabeth Blake). As he comes into contact with these women, he can't let go of his past, which centers around Daisy (Chloe Sevigny), whom he hopes to find when he returns home to Los Angeles.
Nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes, THE BROWN BUNNY is a poignant, emotional drama that features long scenes with little or no dialogue, as Gallo uses natural sound and lighting, jazz and folk music, and long, lingering shots of the open ...

$16.89 From his current post in Antarctica, British glaciologist Matt (Kieran O'Brien), recalls how he met Lisa (Margo Stilley), a 21-year-old American student. They were at a rock concert at London's Brixton Academy, and he took her back to his apartment for sex. This began a brief relationship, which is revealed as Matt remembers and comments on its milestones--mainly the other concerts they attended and their significant sexual experiences--before their initial sexual attraction waned and they were forced to part.
The titular nine songs are comprised of concert performances by 1) Primal Scream, 2) Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, 3) Elbow, 4) Michael Nyman, 5) Super Furry Animals, 6) The Dandy Warhols, 7) Von Bondies, 8) Black Rebel Motorcycle Club again, and 9) Franz Ferdinand. Shot on often-blurry, handheld digital video from an audience perspective, these scenes have a you-are-there effect. The sequences involving Matt and Lisa are intimate and realistic (be warned--the sex in the film is real and graphic), conveying everything one needs to know about their relationship with only the most rudimentary dialogue. With this brief, dreamlike work, director Michael Winterbottom (24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE) has theoretically created the ultimate music movie--one that is purely sex, drugs, and rock & roll. ...

$12.79 Kirstie Alley's loving send-up of the absurdities of Hollywood stars the former CHEERS actress as a character similar to her real-life persona. A successful actress trying to deal with the vagaries of the industry, Kirstie searches for love and success in the often cruel and superficial milieu of the film industry. A hybrid of sitcom and reality TV, most of the series is unscripted, taking plotlines from Kirstie's life and improvising the rest. Much of the show concerns itself with the negative image that has been built up around Kirstie's weight gain, and the difficulties of finding work and acceptance ...
