Kintaro, a former mob boss, has put his wild past behind him and is now an honest white collar worker at a construction company determined to stay on the straight and narrow. When a powerful corporation becomes bent on the destruction of his employer and enlists corrupt politicians and underworld muscle to aid them in bringing down the small company, Kintaro realizes his street smarts may not be enough. Soon, the local yakuza mob branch gets involved, and Kintaro is eventually forced to contact his old biker buddies to help him settle the score. Japanese With English Subtitles. The story of a mob boss attempting to go straight, WHITE COLLAR WORKER KINTARO is a compelling drama set in Japan. The boss in question is named Kintaro, a construction company worker who believes his past is firmly behind him. But corruption sometimes turns up in the strangest places, and when Kintaro discovers that the company he works for has come under attack from a large corporation with underworld associates, he feels his past tugging at his sleeve. When a yakuza mob becomes entangled with the activities he decides to look up a few old friends, with dramatic consequences. Directed by the masterful Takashi Miike (AUDITION), this is an audacious thriller which packs one hell of a punch.

| | Ichi The Killer DVD (2002) Special Edition; Subtitled; Unrated
White Collar Worker Kintaro review
$18.39 Prolific director Takashi Miike (AUDITION) keeps finding new ways to test the boundaries of on-screen violence. ICHI THE KILLER is a masterful piece of filmmaking, simultaneously funny and horrific, but it's only for viewers with strong stomachs. One character, Kakihara (Japanese indie film heartthrob Tadanobu Asano), a masochistic yakuza lieutenant, has slits in his cheeks through which he blows cigarette smoke and gleefully hacks off his own tongue to apologize for his impudence. Then there's eponymous assassin (Nao Omori), a painfully shy but sadistic young voyeur who wears a leather superhero outfit to work. Manipulated by the cagey and mysterious Jijii (English translation: "Gramps," Shinya Tsukamoto), Ichi lashes out and massacres those Jijii deems bullies, and basically anyone else who upsets his frail psyche. Jijii uses the demented lad ...

$16.29 Set in director Takashi Miike's hometown of Osaka and somewhat autobiographical, YOUNG THUGS--INNOCENT BLOOD is a coming of age story that contains the gratuitous amount of blood and violence characteristic to the work of the auteur. True to its title, however, it retains an emotion and innocence that sets it apart from much of Miike's oeuvre. Three friends ...

$6.95 An all-star cast proves just how far people will go for the chance to win $2 million in Jerry Zucker's RAT RACE. In the tradition of Zucker's AIRPLANE and NAKED GUN 2-1/2: THE SMELL OF FEAR, this film features wild chase scenes, slapstick comedy, sight gags, impossible situations, and zany characters. Whoopi Goldberg, Jon Lovitz, Rowan Atkinson, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Seth Green, and Breckin Meyer star as the lucky winners of special tokens in the slot machines at a Las Vegas casino. White Collar Worker Kintaro DVD
$9.29 A rougher version of George Roy Hill's pet theme of men as overaged adolescents, SLAP SHOT stars Paul Newman as Reggie Dunlop, the venerable player-coach of the Charlestown Chiefs, a fifth-rate minor league hockey team. When their blue-collar town falls prey to Rust Belt ills of the 1970s, attendance drops, and the greedy owner starts looking for a buyer, anxious to cash out. Dunlop is informed that the players need to crank up the box office to keep their jobs in what will likely be their last season. To the coach's dismay, general manager Joe McGrath (Strother Martin) imports the Hanson brothers, a hockey Three Stooges who like to assault soda machines and play with toys. But once Dunlop turns them loose, they're a Panzer ...
