There's a lot to be said for the pop Christmas album as cultural artifact. Ever since the days of the crooners, the intersection between pop song and yuletide fare has been the point where art, commerce, and ritual meet. The bigger the pop icon, the more this holds true, so its no surprise that teen-pop mega-sensation Christina Aguilera's MY KIND OF CHRISTMAS proves to be a solid addition to the holiday album tradition. She tackles a mixture of the expected Christmas material ("Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "Angels We Have Heard on High") and more contemporary material, including a song penned by pop wizard Dianne Warren ("These Are Special Times"). The production approach is a similar mix of convention and modernism, but the unifying thread is the consistently unerring vocal performances this seemingly infallible teen diva delivers throughout.

Everybody knows that Christina Aguilera thinks she's the new Mariah Carey, and this album only shows it more. The girl sounds bad on this and it has nothing special to hear.

 i just love her voice
she does make you feel good about christmas. loved the 2 versions of "the christmas song" and "have
yourself a merry----". the rest is o.k.
too. the guys would love to have her
whisper merry christmas in their ear.

 IT'S A MERRY CHRISTMAS WITH CHRISTINA
Since some of these songs are upbeat it takes a few times around to get into those songs. But they are worth listening to. You get some great classics here as well. such as HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS,THIS CHRISTMAS,two versions of THE CHRISTMAS SONG,o holy night and a very bluesy MERRY CHRISTMAS BABY. A couple of lesser known songs that are very catchy and done very nicely are CHRISTMAS TIME and the very beautiful THESE ARE SPECIAL TIMES.

I bought this album the day it came out because, i love christina's voice-i wasn't disappointed- this album is just beautiful. I lost it for 2 years and went crazy without it because, i couldn't stop comparing all other christmas music to this album. I just re-bought it (thats gota tell you something!!) some say that christina "over sings" or "tries to sound like Mariah"- but that is completely false- she makes these songs her own and it showcases the full range of her voice beautifully- i believe that it is one of the best christmas albums out there! It will really get you in the Christmas spirit!! and is totally worth the purchase!! (hey...i bought it twice!!!:)

D'Atra Hicks Began singing at the tender age of four in New Bethel Way of the Cross Church of Christ where the late Bishop James H. Hicks was the founding pastor and is now under the pastoralship of Elder Percy Hicks. D'Atra got her first level of training in singing in the church choirs and soon became the soloist for the church.
