On this album it was clear that Dylan was becoming bored with straight folk, although his music was still acoustic. His left-thinking devotees began to raise an eyebrow at subtle lyrical shifts, yet this album was to be raided time and again--particularly by the Byrds--in 1965's folk rock boom. There is much free-spirited music, as if Dylan was somehow aware of the acceptance that was around the corner, and it has been noted that here were the first signs of his trademark vocal style so prevalent through the rest of the '60s. Take your pick: most of the offerings are striking. "My Back Pages," "All I Really Want To Do," "It Ain't Me Babe," and even a last nod to protest, "The Chimes Of Freedom." How can one man have been so prolific?

Well, It's very typical to hear the names "Freewheelin'" Bringin' It All Back Home," "The Times," and "John Wesley Harding" amongst Dylans best works.I however beg to differ.With the issues that 1964 smothered upon the country,many people were affected,including Dylan,and he was aware of this.You will completely understand the title of the album the moment you hear the record.Dylan was unveiling Dylan;simply put.He was just telling people "despite my stern look and my overall personalness I am a human being and I would like to share a part of me with you....my music."Personally,I love the album because he features all-acoustic music while still veering away from the traditional folk progressions and rhythms.Lyricall,the album is a masterpiece;featuring Dylan's most romantic,perceptive,deep poetry.I reccoment it for anybody....hell,most people could learn alot from this album.....

While Los Lobos have made a handful of great albums during the course of their career, you have to see them live to fully appreciate their status as one of America's best rock bands. Their material is smart and wildly eclectic, they're superb musicians whose interplay has been honed to a fine edge by years of road work, and they know that great chops will never be as important as a strong dose of sweaty enthusiasm if you want to get over with an audience; put it all together and you get a group that never disappoints a crowd. This album was a true labor of love.. It started its conception from us being on the Winter Solstice Tour. The label would hire musicians to back the featured artists. We would travel together for weeks on end, city to city in a big tour bus. I totally fell in love with these guys, and they brought so much good energy to my songs. We became great friends and I decided I wanted to make an album that would sound just like we did as a group on stage. So this record was recorded a bit different from usual.
