This seven-track recording features concert recordings by Oregon, the highly progressive jazz fusion band, who dabble in ambient and new age textures.
A textbook live recording by Oregon, a premier acoustic band. It contains their usual classical, African, and jazz elements and shows that they're more aggressive and animated in performance than in the studio. The recording is excellent and fully displays the broad range of colors, rhythms, and textures that they present. ~ Ron Wynn
Recorded in 1975.

Oregon In Concert album
$8.85 Guitarist Erik Rutan joins the fold on Morbid Angel's Domination and contributes several of his own compositions. The group's sound is better than ever and perhaps a bit more groove-oriented, but this is mostly standard Morbid Angel. ~ Steve Huey
Guitarist Erik Rutan joins the fold on Morbid Angel's Domination and contributes several of his own compositions. The group's sound is better than ever and perhaps a bit more groove-oriented, but this is mostly standard Morbid Angel, with the typical problems: the bass drums are played too fast to ...
| | Nels Cline Inkling CD (2000)
Oregon In Concert CD music
$15.19 Nels Cline's improvisational guitar expertise has crossed musical boundaries--the avant/noise-rock of Mike Watt, Thurston Moore and The Geraldine Fibbers, and the probing jazz ensembles of Tim Berne, Vinny Golia, and Gregg Bendian have all been enriched by his vibrant, unpredictable sound. Though most of the tunes here are by Cline, THE INKLING is a collaborative effort, including harpist Zeena Parkins, bassist Mark Dresser, and drummer Billy Mintz.
Though THE INKLING is clearly not easy listening, Cline and company create a very inviting tapestry of free-flowing avant-garde sound. "New Old Hat" is a very pretty acoustic piece that wouldn't be out of place on a Michael Hedges or Ralph Towner album--classical picking over shifting improvisational bass. "Moth Song" shimmers like a desert mirage, and "Cork Farm" features Parkins and Dresser (each a masterful improviser) using extended techniques (unusual tuning and playing methods) to coax questing, spacious, and otherworldly reverberations from their instruments. Cline runs the gamut here, from ...

| | David Torn Cloud About Mercury CD (1987)
Oregon In Concert songs
$13.19 This 1987 production signifies experimental guitarist David Torn's second and final effort for Germany-based ECM Records. Here, the artist exhibits a sound, style, and methodology that are clearly his own, amid superb support by Bill Bruford (drums), Tony Levin (Chapman Stick/bass), and Mark Isham (trumpets). Torn generates gobs of excitement via his cunningly articulated phraseology, while also incorporating North African and East Indian modal concepts into these power-packed performances, fabricated upon climactic opuses and steamy crescendos. The guitarist's rippling harmonics and off-kilter voicings make for an engaging listening experience, especially when he trades sprightly fours ...
| | Steve Roach Mantram CD (2004)
Oregon In Concert album
$13.99 MANTRAM continues Steve Roach's intriguing excursions into electronic tribal-ambient fusion. Roach's music has always been a cut above the work of his peers, and the subtle, textured landscapes of MANTRAM is no exception. The album brings together cerebral space-synth frameworks with an earthy, primal feel that evokes Roach's Southwestern ...
