Animated; Closed Captioned; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Soundtrack Spanish; Director's Comments; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re Disney fashions a modern-day icon of girl power with its animated adaptation of the 2,000-year-old Chinese folktale MULAN. When barbarous Huns attack ancient China, the fiercely independent Mulan (voiced by Ming-Na Wen) defies tradition by disguising herself as a man in order to take her ailing father's place in the Imperial Army. With the help of Mushu (voiced by the resilient and newly kid-friendly Eddie Murphy), a wisecracking guardian dragon sent by her ancestors for protection, Mulan trains in boot camp and then heads off to face the brutal Hun leader Shan-Yu (voiced by Miguel Ferrer)--all the while struggling to keep her gender identity a secret. Chock full of the usual Disney delights--breathtaking visuals, catchy songs, and an inspirational protagonist of courage and conviction--MULAN is a welcome addition to the studio's annals of classic animation. Theatrical release: June 19, 1998.

Another favorite I won't say much about this. The menus are really neat, I liked them a lot. The extras are okay, but as always, Disney has excellent color and sound on their DVDs. There...was really no point in the second disc. o_O Just tons of extras. BUT STILL. It's a good movie. Submitted by Liz (Texas) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Great movie but... Jackie Chan? I have always loved this film. Excellant music & I love the character of Mushu!!
So, I was glad to know this 2 disc special edition was coming out.
But, can ANYONE EXPLAIN THE REASON FOR JACKIE CHAN ON THIS DVD SET? 1. SINCE WHEN IS HE A MUSICAL ARTIST? 2. WAS THIS PART OF HIS CONTRACT TO DO THIS "VIDEo' FROM THE EXTREME BOMB "AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS"?
This I HATE BEING ON THIS DVD SET!!
NO REASON FOR IT IN ANY WAY!! Submitted by Ms Kris (Home) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Great visual effects and scenery... story a little far-fetched and stretching on ancient Chinese customs but a good story in the tradition of a Disney classic... Submitted by a reviewer (Houston, TX, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
The Wonderful World of Disney does it again I always have loved Disney Movies, My two favorites have been Pocahantus, and Mulan. Mulan had fabulous animation, a great storyline and songs that have got stuck in my head many times. Its a relief I hear children singing song from Disney movies and not sexist and disgusting lyrics I hear on MTV. Submitted by a reviewer (Ma, USA) Was This Review Helpful? $23.45 Co-helmed by WALL-E director Andrew Stanton, FINDING NEMO follows Marlin (voiced by Albert Brooks), an overprotective clown fish father, as he desperately searches the farthest reaches of the sea for his missing son Nemo. Marlin's journey leads him beyond the Great Barrier Reef into deeper and darker waters, where he meets Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), a forgetful yet optimistic blue tang, and a number of not-so-friendly--and often very hungry--aquatic creatures. Meanwhile, little Nemo finds himself in a dentist's fish tank in Syndey, Australia, along with other underwater captives, including Gill (Willem Dafoe), the group's scarred Moorish idol leader. As Nemo works with his new friends on a plan to escape their tank, Marlin and Dory swim closer, but they'll need more than just fins to get into the dentist's office.
This fifth computer-animated outing by Pixar continues the company's remarkable winning streak that began with TOY STORY. Like other Pixar films, FINDING NEMO features a story with heart--this time, a father-and-son tale--and thoroughly charming leads--in this case, Marlin, Nemo, and Dory. And, of course, there's an army of fascinating supporting characters, including Bruce (Barry Humphries), a great white shark on a no-fish diet; Crush (director/screenwriter Stanton), a surfer-dude sea turtle; Peach (Allison Janney), a stuck-to-the-aquarium starfish; and Nigel (Geoffrey Rush), a bold pelican. However, what truly distinguishes NEMO from even its CGI cousins is its stunning depiction of aquatic life, from the colorful creatures on a coral reef to a blue whale on the vast expanse of the open ocean. By combining the aesthetic of a National Geographic marine life documentary with clever jokes and Hitchcock references, NEMO succeeds in its bid to up the ante for animated films yet again. And be sure to watch the credits or you just might miss something!

Mulan DVD
$13.59 Based on a true story, SCHINDLER'S LIST is Steven Spielberg's epic drama of World War II Holocaust survivors and the man who unexpectedly came to be their savior. Unrepentant womanizer and war profiteer Oskar Schindler uses Polish Jews as cheap labor to produce cookware for the Third Reich. But after witnessing the violent liquidation of the walled ghetto where the Krakow Jews have been forced to live, Schindler slowly begins to realize the immense evil of Nazism. When his employees are sent to a work camp, they come under the terrorizing reign of sadistic Nazi Amon Goeth (Ralph Fiennes). With the help of his accountant, Itzhak Stern (Ben Kingsley), Schindler creates a list of "essential" Jews. Bribing Goeth, Schindler manages to get 1,100 people released from the camp and brought to the safety of his munitions factory in Czechoslovakia. Spielberg's glorious film is wondrously evocative, visually stunning, and emotionally stirring.

| | Tesla Into The Now CD (2004)
Mulan movie DVD
$8.49 Unfairly labeled a hair-metal band, Tesla was always closer to the spirit of vintage 1970s hard rock. When the group released 1994's BUST A NUT, grunge rock was in full swing, and the Sacramento quintet subsequently took their curtain call, keeping busy with low-profile side projects. Testing the waters in 2000, Tesla launched a successful reunion tour, proving the band's enduring appeal. INTO THE NOW stands as their first full-length studio effort in 10 years.
The core of Tesla's sound has been updated with a fresh and contemporary flavor, but it's still very much their own. Jeff Keith's voice retains its heartfelt grit and grease, while guitarists Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeotch have noticeably absorbed some nu-metal influences in the band's downtime. Downtuned, post-grunge riffs drive tracks such as "Miles Away," "Mighty Mouse," and the aptly named title track. Still, Tesla are truly in their element when they tap into the vibe that's endeared them to legions of fans, best evidenced in future classics "Caught Up In A Dream" and "What A Shame."

| | Happiness DVD (1998) Widescreen; Unrated
Mulan DVD
$10.05 Building on the darkly comic angst of WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE, Todd Solondz's HAPPINESS conveys suburban desperation and frustration on a larger scale than his previous film. The ensemble cast of characters centers around the lives of three sisters: Joy (Jane Adams), an awkward, naive, and unlucky musician; Helen (Lara Flynn Boyle), a beautiful, self-obsessed writer; and Trish (Cynthia Stevenson), a conservative housewife who is married to Bill (Dylan Baker), a psychiatrist harboring an unhealthy fascination for young boys. Other dysfunctional characters include the sisters' unhappy parents, Lenny and Mona Jordan (Ben Gazzara and Louise Lasser), and the lonely, sex-obsessed Allen (Philip Seymour Hoffman), who lives next to Helen and goes to Bill for therapy.
At once both scathingly funny and shockingly bleak, HAPPINESS addresses subjects that most films are afraid to touch, including pedophilia and masturbation. Unapologetic and unflinching, Solondz's film features bold performances from the entire cast and makes for uneasy but intriguing viewing as it peers behind the fragile facade of the American dream.
