DJ Shadow steps forward to lead his genre in what has become known as cinematic hip hop. This DVD/CD package is th audio visual recording of his extraordinary live shows from his world tour. The DVD captures Shadow's startling visceral and visually dynamic performance. Also included are candid, on-the-road footage from various countries, vox pops with fans, and a montage of crowd stills. Extra material includes a sampler battle between DJ Shadow, Cut Chemist, and DJ NuMark at the Myan Theatre, L.A., and a solo turn by touring drummer Malcolm Catto. The work of DJ Shadow is widely regarded as being highly innovative in the electronica field. Embodying elements of hip hop, ambient music, rock, soul, R&B, and just about every genre under the sun, Shadow brews up a potent mixture of styles to create an entirely fresh sound. A vinyl junkie and fiendish sampler, his records break down boundaries, and have won over an impressive following of music fans eager to hear something new. His tracks take on a whole new dimension when performed live, as this show from London's Brixton Academy in 2002 illustrates.
