(6 Customer Reviews)
Initial pressings of NEUROTICISM: DESCANTING THE INSALUBRIOUS are packaged in a limited edition slipcase with an album artwork poster.
Carcass is one of the few bands that could make Megadeath sound like the Beach Boys by comparison. Growling, brutal, nihilistic, and still possessed of a subtle sense of sophistication somehow, Carcass continues to refine their fusion of grindcore and black metal. Unlike some of their contemporaries, they demonstrate true musicianship to go along with all the seething rancor--note guitarist Bill Steer's ornate (though still shredding) solos. Not for the whole family, NECROTICISM will nonetheless stimulate those who crave sounds both volatile and menacing.

Classic. this record got me started on Death Metal, and while my facsination with said genre has subsided there is no doubt that this record is amazing. if you are looking for great arrangement, solos, riffs and drumming, look no futher, Ken Owen is my favoite drummer, while he is no Nick Barker his beats are perfect for what the music is. buy this album. you get the remastered version & you get three track from the Tools of the Trade EP.... a must have One of the greatest heavy metal albums ever, period. Submitted by shit (Italy) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
by far their best album and by such a huge margin, that their other works are poor by such a great standard. this is the first album of theirs i heard, and i was mortified (and not in a good way) by the rubbish that was their first, and left rather cool by their third. swansong (the 4th and final) wasnt too bad, but nothing compares to necroticism... | | Toby Keith American Ride CD (2009)
Necroticism: Descanting The Insalubrious CD music
$13.59 With most contemporary country artists, you could guarantee that a song called "American Ride" would be a slice of jingoism, but Toby Keith isn't like most country singers. His "American Ride" casts a cynical eye at desperate housewives and wannabe pop stars, not celebrating down-home values but wondering where we're all headed on this American Ride at the end of the 2000s, a sentiment not all that far removed from some of Keith's previous social commentary, which makes it a mild surprise that it is the only song here that doesn't come from his own pen. As superb and striking as it is, it's not necessarily a good keystone for the rest of the record, which does have a few tougher numbers that pick up on the lean, mean vibe of 2008's THAT DON'T MAKE ME A BAD GUY -- "Every Dog Has Its Day," the sly "If I Had One," and the heavy blues stomp "Loaded" -- but spends more time on the softer side, even when he kicks up a bit of dust on the dancefloor on "You Can't Read My Mind" or does a funny, respectful salute to military life on "Ballad of Balad." In other words, the real touchstone for the rest of the record is "Tender as I Wanna ...

| | Rainbow Straight Between The Eyes CD (1982) Remastered
Necroticism: Descanting The Insalubrious songs
$6.49 Straight Between the Eyes undoubtedly has one of the worst album covers in rock history, but the record is an unexpected return to form from the journeyman hard rockers. Just a record before, Rainbow sounded as if they were verging on Billy Squier territory, but here, they reverse course and deliver a solid, no-frills hard rock record. It isn't just that the material is stronger, though it certainly is, it's that Roger Glover abandoned his smoothed-out, radio-ready ...

$19.89 DEATH IN THE GUITARFTERNOON is the first solo album from Motorhead guitarist Larry Wallis.
Anyone with an eye for the unsung guitar heroes of the '70s and '80s will know the name Larry Wallis. He led the Pink Fairies through their final studio album and sundry subsequent re-formations; he was a founding member of Motörhead in the days when they really were as dangerous as their reputation insisted; he gifted Stiff Records with the punk-era treasure "Police Car," and appeared on the first, legendary Live Stiffs tour; he has drifted in and out of sundry Mick Farren and the Deviants projects; he even co-produced the Adverts' 1977 Top 20 hit "Gary Gilmore's ...
