When Aaron Fink and Markus James left Universal Records act Lifer to join the then-unsigned Breaking Benjamin, many hard-rock fans were skeptical. WE ARE NOT ALONE, the latter band's sophomore effort, promises to silence the naysayers for good. Led by powerful vocalist Ben Burnley, Breaking Benjamin delivers a snap-tight, streamlined brand of heavy alternative rock with occasional detours into the rhythmic funk-metal territory inhabited by Limp Bizkit and Korn.
With strong melodies reminiscent of Staind or Incubus at their most accessible, the Pennsylvania combo makes good use of soaring vocal harmonies and unusual production touches (the piano intro on "Breakdown" and the swirling, phase-shifting guitars on "Believe") to separate itself from the heavy-rock pack. On "Forget It" and the closing ballad "Rain," Breaking Benjamin gets downright New Romantic, suggesting a diversity unusual among its contemporaries.

I Think Personally This Album Is The Ultimate And Greatest Album Ever Made..
Every Song Is Amazing, Once You Listen To One Song It Just Makes You Want To Listen To It More And More Over And Over Again, But My Favourites Has Got To Be Firefly, And BreakDown...
Firefly is the world's ultimate song, even just from the intro the lyrics are perfect its sung perfect the drums guitars and bass are tuned to perfection and could not sound better and finally ben has got to have the best voice ever!!! the last chorus on the song is the best part and i just love it when he says "Cause There Just Like Mine" this song just makes you get musical goosebumps all the time. 1000/5 Breakdown is as good as firefly the song is built perfectly from the piano intro into the relentless crunch guitar riff and from the verse and pre chorus it all builds up to the super cringing chorus but if im not mistaken i would say that ben burnley sounds like he has two voices on the chorus... 1000/5

i found out about these guys whilst searching the internet for halo soundtracks and the literally blew me away. just like all of their creations, we are not alone is an album of amazing quality. dont listen to so cold as much as i did though or it gets a lil boring(still a classic though) breaking benjamin r0ck!

This CD is amazing! All the songs are great and the lyrics are sick! It's amazing! My favorites on here are Break My Fall and Away, been a dedicated fan since the days of "Saturate" and they've proven themselves worthy! Awsome group!

this is an amazing cd by BB. Every song on the cd is good, but my favorites are "believe", "so cold", and "follow". I found out about BB at my friend harrison's house and i haven't stopped listening to it since. BUY!

Hilmar Jensson might be a jazz guitarist, but he's not necessarily one of jazz's nice guys. His textures, harmonic choices, and rhythms often steer closer to experimental rock and even post-grunge than mainstream post-bop, and you can forget about gauzy chord washes or flirtations with widescreen Americana (isn't it about time to make Icelandia a musical style?). So for those seeking unpredictability in their jazz (and who also prefer music that keeps them awake), here's your man. Ditty Blei is Jensson's second Songlines release, following 2003's crazily diverse Tyft. This new recording sounds "jazzier" than Tyft, due in large degree to the expanded lineup that adds trumpeter Herb Robertson and bassist Trevor Dunn to the core trio of Jensson on guitar, Jim Black on drums, and Andrew D'Angelo on alto sax and bass clarinet. But the lineup is only one element that tilts Ditty Blei further toward jazz. A greater sense of flow also permeates the recording; Jensson has penned music with a seamless feel regardless of its startling contrasts. And there is a bright melodicism present in memorable themes the band almost seems to stumble upon by accident (the opening "Letta"), although even then little dissonances from a broken guitar phrase or ragged horn blurt can often be heard flitting around the edges. If there's an element to be singled out as one of the least jazzy aspects of Ditty Blei, it might be Jensson's skewed sense of rhythm, brought to life by Dunn and the incomparable Black. At least on the evidence so far, Jensson would appear to have a severe allergy to swinging tempos; while forward momentum is important, keeping the listener off-center is a guiding principle.
