This man sings it like it is and means what it says.A real live blues legend.He has lived the life many can only dream about and it comes out in his music.He has been "All Around The World" and the Blues has been his companion.Give him a chance;he will touch you with his soul.

Although Them was the only group from Belfast (indeed, the only group from Ireland) who made an international impact in the mid-1960s, there were several other bands from the area playing R&B-influenced rock. 27 tracks from nine such outfits (including a couple of songs by Them) are found on this compilation, the odd-looking title selected in honor of the Maritime Hotel where Them played shows and built their following. Taken as a whole, it's a solid and gutsy platter that makes a good case for Belfast having developed its own regional take on the British R&B sound, even if Them were clearly the best of the bunch by a football field. There's often (though not always) a sullen, nasty, lean edge to the vocals and arrangements, whether the material is R&B covers or originals that are thinly derivative of American R&B. After a promising but uneven first album, the Chenille Sisters' sophomore effort, a relatively brief concert set called At Home with the Chenille Sisters, is a big step forward for the trio. The decision to record live at the Ark in their hometown of Ann Arbor, MI, was a good one, particularly because so much of the group's repertoire consists of novelty and outright comic material. They begin with a nod to their predecessors, the Boswell Sisters, by covering "Crazy People," a song those real biological sisters introduced in the movie The Big Broadcast in 1932.
