Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy Soundtrack album for sale was released Jun 29, 2004 on the Universal Distribution label. The story of a 1970s San Diego TV anchorman who feels threatened by a strong-willed female co-worker, the film ANCHORMAN is simultaneously a comic tour-de-force for leading man Will Ferrell and a gloriously farcical celebration of all the greatest excesses of the "Me Generation." The soundtrack appropriately collects period radio hits, including choice cuts from famous ladies men Tom Jones and Neil Diamond, together with Ferrell character Ron Burgundy's hilarious track-by-track introductions. ...See Full Description

what are you talking about! i agree the first time i listened to it, i thought the reviews were kind of stupid... but with each additional listen they get funnier and funnier, it is to the point where i can no longer listen to it in my car because i laugh too hard to drive. By jenny (CT, USA)
feels like old times great cd. heard songs i haven't heard in years. could have done w/o the narration between songs, but still a great listen. By a reviewer (jacksonville, ar, usa)
No Commentary I love the movie. I love the vintage '70's tunes. Wouldn't mind commentary between tracks, but DO NOT talk over the awesome tunage!! I will skip this, was fully prepared to buy until I heard Will Ferrel talks over the music. By Paulie (Chicago)
Don't Buy This Don't buy this CD! Every great track on this CD is includes a 20 second Will Ferrell comedy monologue prepended to the music. By a reviewer (USofA)
Classics ruined by Will... I bought this soundtrack because of the classic tracks on it BUT I had no idea that Will Ferrell would not only appear playing dj doing intros for EVERY tune, but that he would talk over them and in some cases blab on throughout the tunes! I didn't buy this to hear Will Ferrell. By resnickr (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)

Elton John Greatest Hits 1970-2002 CDs (2002) Top Seller
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy Soundtrack buy CD music Initial pressings of this first edition contain a bonus disc.
Recorded between 1970 & 2002. Includes liner notes by Paul Gambaccini.
Greatest Hits 1970-2002 is a nearly flawless double-disc set commemorating Elton John's three-decade career. Disc one features what may arguably be John's most essential work: Seeing songs such as "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Candle in the Wind," and "Bennie and the Jets" -- not to mention "Your Song," "Rocket Man," and "Tiny Dancer" -- lined up back to back reaffirms just how diverse, and yet universal, his songwriting talent is. Disc two finds this talent maturing gracefully into the '80s, '90s, and beyond, touching on pop gems like "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," "I'm Still Standing," and "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues" as well as his Lion King classic "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" and the Aida duet "Written in the Stars" with LeAnn Rimes. The collection also finds room for the highlights of his most recent albums, including Made in England's "Believe" and "Blessed," The Big Picture's "Something About the Way You Look Tonight," and Songs from the West Coast's "This Train Don't Stop Here Anymore." For most casual fans, Greatest Hits 1970-2002 will replace the need for collections such as Greatest Hits, ...

Beatles Let It Be CDs (1970)
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy Soundtrack album for sale LET IT BE...NAKED contains a FLY ON THE WALL bonus disc including song rehearsals and conversation snatches.
Includes liner notes by Kevin Howlett and interview excerpts with The Beatles
In its original form, LET IT BE signaled the end of an era, closing the book on the Beatles, as well as literally and figuratively marking the end of the '60s. The 1970 release evolved from friction-filled sessions the Beatles intended to be an organic, bare-bones return to their roots. Instead, the endless hours of tapes were eventually handed over to Phil Spector, since neither the quickly splintering Beatles nor their longtime producer George Martin wanted to sift through the voluminous results.
LET IT BE... NAKED sets the record straight, revisiting the contentious sessions, stripping away the Spectorian orchestrations, reworking the running order, and losing all extemporaneous in-studio banter. On this version of the album, filler tracks ("Dig It," "Maggie Mae") are dropped, while juicy b-side "Don't Let Me Down" is added. The most obvious revamping is on the songs handled heavily by Spector. Removing the orchestrations from "The Long and Winding Road" and "Across the Universe" gives Paul McCartney's vocals considerably more resonance on the former, doing the same for John Lennon's voice and guitar on the latter. This alternate take on LET IT BE enhances the album's power, reclaiming the raw, unadorned quality that was meant to be its calling card from the beginning.

Willie Nelson Essential Willie Nelson CDs (2003) Top Seller
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy Soundtrack CD music This CD commemorates Willie Nelson's 70th Birthday (April 30, 2003).
The catalog of Willie Nelson is so vast and rich that assembling an "essential" collection of only one or two discs seems nearly impossible. RCA's single-disc 1995 attempt was admirable and worthy, but doomed by space limitations. With a bit more room to move, Legacy's roomier two-disc collection is about close as anyone could hope to come. We get the full view of the great singer/songwriter's artistic journey.
"Hello Walls" and the evergreen "Crazy" hail from the days when Nelson was tooling around Nashville as a songwriter for hire but mystifyingly unable to connect as a solo artist. His transformation into a counterculture icon via the '70s "outlaw country" movement is marked by the likes of "Me and Paul" and "Bloody Mary Morning." His tremendous skill as in interpreter can be heard in such standards as "Blue Skies" and "Georgia on Mind," which helped make him a crossover success in the STARDUST era. Latter-day collaborations with everyone from Aerosmith ("One Time Too Many") to U2 ("Slow Dancing") show Willie's mercurial, eclectic nature. Add it all up and a portrait comes together of a man whose artistic vision has carried him across decades and stylistic shifts aplenty and seen him through in style.
Recorded between 1961 & 2002.

Lynyrd Skynyrd Second Helping CD (1974)
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy Soundtrack songs SECOND HELPING is also available with PRONOUNCED LEH'NERD SKIN'ERD on one cassette.
It was hard to believe that Lynyrd Skynyrd could possibly top its classic, near-perfect 1973 debut, PRONOUNCED LEH-NERD SKIN-NERD. However, the boys from Florida accomplished the near-impossible with their sophomore release one year later, SECOND HELPING. It's hard to determine the better album of the two, but both proved to be a solid one-two punch that made Lynyrd Skynyrd one of the '70s' biggest (and unfortunately, most tragic) rock bands.
SECOND HELPING also helped define and create the Southern rock movement, as proven by such tracks as the classic anthem "Sweet Home Alabama" (which include the now-famous dig at Neil Young), the cautionary rocker "The Needle & the Spoon," and the biographical tale of "Workin' For MCA." With its fine writing and playing, and scores of hard-hitting Southern rock riffs and grooves, SECOND HELPING assured Skynyrd's ascendancy to rock stardom and FM radio immortality.

Lynyrd Skynyrd One More from the Road CDs (1976)
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy Soundtrack album for sale Recorded live at the Fox Theater, Atlanta, Georgia in July 1976. Originally released on MCA (6001). Includes original liner notes by Cameron Crowe and reissue liner notes Ron O'Brien.
Digitally remastered by Doug Schwartz (Audio Mechanics, Los Angles, California).
The '70s was the era of the live album--it seemed like just about every rock band used the format to bolster its career. But Lynyrd Skynyrd was already established as the premier Southern rock outfit by the time of its 1976 in-concert double album, ONE MORE FROM THE ROAD. What this release did was serve as proof that the non-stop touring the band had been indulging in since the dawn of the decade had made them an untouchable, rock-solid live act.
These renditions show that the band poured its heart and soul into its live set--the moving "Tuesday's Gone" is even more gut wrenching than its studio incarnation. "Saturday Night Special" is just as fierce, and "Sweet Home Alabama" takes on a party atmosphere, while the near 12-minute album closing "Free Bird" stretches to even more epic proportions than the studio version.

Fixx Ultimate Collection CD (1999) Top Seller
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy Soundtrack CD music At their very best, the Fixx were one of the great singles bands of the new wave era. They often don't get credit for it because they were a little out of step with the times. They certainly weren't as dark as the legions of critically acclaimed post-punk bands like the Cure and Gang of Four, nor were they as lightly quirky as many of the early-MTV one-hit wonders or as fashionable as the new romantics. Instead, the Fixx picked up the album rock side of David Bowie, which meant that they were briefly in step with the times in the early '80s but then could carry on in the years immediately following new wave since they were just slightly more traditional than their peers. In both their new wave and post-new wave incarnations, the Fixx turned out a handful of terrific singles -- "Saved by Zero," "The Sign of Fire," "Are We Ourselves," "Secret Separation," and "One Thing Leads to Another," which sounds as startlingly fresh years after its recording as it did at the time. All of these songs are on the aptly titled Ultimate Collection. In addition to the hits, the 17-track compilation contains a number of lesser-known singles and album tracks, and while they're not quite as good as the classic singles, they're still solid songs in the same vein, and anyone who believes that the Fixx's five best singles are indeed classics should find plenty to enjoy here. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
