| | Stacie Orrico CD Stacie Orrico Discography of CDs
STACIE ORRICO was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album.
Exclusive Asian version contains a bonus AVCD with three videos (compatible with all DVD players)--"Stuck," "(There's Gotta Be) More To Life," and "I Promise"--as well as a photo gallery and nine bonus audio cuts.
Despite coming from a Christian music background, Stacie Orrico makes a full-fledged splash into the secular world with a self-titled album that puts her squarely amongst the Mandy Moores and Jessica Simpsons of the teen pop world. Like her secular sisters, Orrico has a big voice that fits hand-in-glove with the dance-pop template of this outing. The big difference is that this talented 16-year-old co-wrote a good percentage of these songs, which deal with weightier matters like the idea of life after death (the acoustic guitar-mottled "Hesitation") and spiritual beliefs (the soaring "Strong Enough"). Even Orrico's breakout single "Stuck" does an impressive job of intelligently addressing heartbreak in a way that's struck a chord with teenage girls everywhere. Reminiscent of Janet Jackson's finer moments, STACIE ORRICO is packed with a fusion of hard-hitting beats and well-written lyrics that are harbingers of greater things to come for this sharp pop idol.
Asia exclusive edition of 2003 album includes a bonus AVCD (audio/video) featuring three videos (playable on all TVs and DVD players), 'Stuck', '(There's Gotta Be) More To Life', & 'I Promise' along with a photo gallery & nine audio tracks, 'I Could Be The One', 'Stuck' (Acoustic), 'Strong Enough' (Acoustic), '(There's Gotta Be) More To Life' (Acoustic), 'Until I Find You', 'Star Of My Story', '(There's Gotta Be) More To Life' (GoodandEvil/Ruff Ryders Remix feat. Jin), 'Stuck' (Rhythmic Mix), & 'I Promise' (Boris & Beck Radio Mix). Slipcase. EMI. 2004.

Stacie Orrico album
$14.38 Glitter and Doom Live, a double-disc set, marks Tom Waits' third live effort in his nearly 40-year career, each one summing up his career to the point of its release. The first, Nighthawks at the Diner issued in 1975 on Asylum, is regarded by many as one of the greatest live albums of all time. The second was Big Time, released during his tenure at Island in 1986. The musical performances on disc one of Glitter and Doom Live were culled from Waits' historic sold-out tour of the U.S. and Europe. He compiled and sequenced the set himself, intending to make them sound like a single show. The material leans, understandably, on his recordings with the Anti label. There are stellar performances here, such as "Get Behind the Mule" from The Mule Variations, "Trampled Rose" from Real Gone, and a haunting version of Leadbelly's "Fannin Street" from Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards, to mention just three of the 17 cuts here. But he goes back to his Island albums too. For instance, there are completely re-visioned readings of "Lucky Day" and "I'll Shoot the Moon" from 1993's Black Rider, and a killer ...
| | Sting If On A Winter's Night... CDs (2009) Digipak
Stacie Orrico CD music
$14.19 It's no secret that Sting is a serious man, so it's only logical that his holiday album -- his first new music since the Police reunion, not that it really matters -- is a serious endeavor, thank you. No niceties for him, no comforts of carols; he favors formal over familiar, writing madrigals, not ditties. It is music made ...

| | Rod Stewart Never A Dull Moment (Gold) CD (1972) Gold
Stacie Orrico album
$19.10 NEVER A DULL MOMENT picks up where EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY left off. Here we have more raucous rock & roll with healthy dollops of soul and twang thrown in for good measure. Always looking for a good songwriter to cover, Stewart's honorees here include Jimi Hendrix ("Angel"), Dylan ("Mama You Been On My Mind"), and Rod's personal hero, Sam Cooke ("Twistin' The Night Away"). Sidling ...

| | Jess Willard Honky Tonk Hardwood Floor CD (2000) (Import) Import; Germany
Stacie Orrico music CDs
$20.09 Jess Willard's Capitol recordings comprise one of the best obscure catalogs Bear Family has released. He was blessed to have an excellent assortment of material to sing -- these songs sparkle both musically and lyrically -- and Willard's irresistible, untrained delivery is a true delight. Honky Tonk Hardwood Floor covers his complete sessions from 1950-1952, as well as a pair of songs from the California Hayride shows with the Cochran Brothers in 1955. As great stuff unfolds and continues to unfold, it becomes clear that Willard was a genuine talent, and even though many of these songs bear the strong influence of Hank Williams and Lefty Frizzell, there are some excellent country boogies and proto-rockabilly numbers ("Honky Tonk Hardwood Floor" became a minor rockabilly standard). "Turn That Gun Around," in particular, is a hoot, full of dark humor and lucid imagery, and "My Mail Order Mama" and "Slippin' Around With Jole Blon" are terrific. There's a loose, cheerful sway to everything here, so much so that it's hard to believe how uncelebrated Willard has been ...
