Closed Captioned; Soundtrack English Sequel to 1976's "King Kong". In the finale of that film, Kong fell from the top of the Twin Towers onto the concrete below. Here, Kong is shown to have survived the fall, but is being kept alive via life-support and needs an artificial heart. Meanwhile, an adventurer in Borneo finds and brings to the U.S. a female Kong, since her blood will aid in the heart operation. Naturally the two apes meet, begin a romance -- and escape from captivity, creating chaos and destruction everywhere they go. As black metal's fully enthroned reigning kings, Emperor are truly an interesting, intriguing act, combining the soaring, operatic, orchestral sensibilities of classical music with the pomposity, technical skill, and brutality of various types of heavy metal. What emerges from that Norwegian cocoon is something entirely new, or if not entirely new, then a fully realized version of something that had been attempted by other acts. This live disc, which also incorporates multimedia -- a video for "I Am the Black Wizards" and Emperor screensavers -- was recorded and engineered during European touring for Equilibrium IX. Whether or not the tracks have been overdubbed -- after all, black metal is not an easy medium to work in -- remains fairly dubious. Though it failed to equal the mostly novelty-based sales of Loudness' first internationally distributed album Thunder in the East, Lightning Strikes had handily managed to translate the band's Japanese-bred heavy metal into a more easily digestible recipe for Western audiences. Because this progress didn't translate into sales, however, their record company, Atco, felt the need to force the band's hand toward an even more pop-metal direction when it came time to record their next effort. Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of Vladimir Nabokov's controversial LOLITA is a wicked satire of sexual obsession, sadomasochism, and fetishism. When mild-mannered professor Humbert Humbert (James Mason) arrives in the small town of Ramsdale, New Hampshire, he is immediately set upon by his landlady, Charlotte Haze (Shelley Winters), and her adolescent daughter, Lolita (Sue Lyon).
