Heart's 1980 release, BEBE LE STRANGE, signaled a new era for the band. Bebe Le Strange CD music While their tough rock sound remained intact, longtime guitarist Roger Fisher had quit prior to the album's recording. But Fisher's split from the band didn't change Heart's direction; other top rock acts of the '70s may have dabbled with other musical forms upon entering the '80s, but Heart remained straight-ahead rockers, as proven by such tracks as "Even It Up" and the title track. | The Band of Wild Angels Rawk! From the opening bass lines by Ann Wilson (!) on the title track, this album rocks righteously. The music here is raw and frenzied (except for the closing ballads) and the playing is inspired and, dare I say, "punkish". Bebe, Break, Rockin'Heaven Down, Even It Up (NW on lead guitar) and Strange Night all kick major butt. You'll recognize Nancy's lovely Silver Wheels as one of her memorable intro's to the classic Crazy On You. Little Sis also takes center stage by playing every instrument -except drums- and singing lead on the rollicking Raised on You. Ann takes over on the final two cuts: Pilot and the dreamy Sweet Darlin' (on which she plays every instrument). There is not a weak track to be found on this 1980 offering, which features Ann, Nancy and Sue Ennis collaborating on 7 of the 10 songs. A treasure for anyone who loves good rock and roll. By Pat V. | Excellent Stuff! Heart's Bebe le Strange is still a thrill listening to. The songs have aged rather well considering the many years that have passed since its original release. A must have. By Søren (Hvidovre, Denmark) |
| WILSON SISTERS ROCK!!!! This has always been one of my favorites by heart. The title track, and also "break","rockin' heaven down",and the cool "strange night" all shine here in the glory of remastering. The bonus track "jackleg man" is truly a bonus.I also love nancy's lead vocal on "raised on you".Check it out! | Big step forward A strong set of songs. Ann's singing is much stronger here. It was strong before so that's saying a lot! Nancy and Howard fill in the "gap" supposedly left by Roger quite well, the ultimate payback for love gone wrong. By a reviewer (Milwaukee, WI) This review is for a different format. |
| GIRLS GOT ATTITUDE this album is much more meaner and has got some punch to it compared to some earlier albums.both ann and nancy wilson sing and play like they have something to prove.best song? no doubt has to be "rockin heaven down".title track also rocks.i do wish that this would have been re-mastered but for right now it does a good job.
