| | Bjork's Greatest Hits CD - Import Bjork Discography of CDs
Throughout the '90s, Bjork established herself as a sui generis solo artist, unswervingly following her own idiosyncratic path after stepping out from the sheltering umbrella of Icelandic alt-rock stars the Sugarcubes. With her almost-alien little-girl-lost vocals, unconventional song structures, and adventurous production that married electronica, rock, and orchestral traditions, she became one of the decade's most striking artists. From the vantage point of 2002, after such classics as VESPERTINE have been unleashed on the world, a GREATEST HITS album certainly seems in order, even if Bjork is far from the kind of conventional singles artist that the title might imply. From the feather-light strings-and-beats bliss of "All is Full of Love" through such gems as the syncopated, danceable "Big Time Sensuality" on through to the captivating closer, the glitchtronica-kissed "It's in Our Hands," we're given a portrait of an inspired, mercurial artist and the unfettered flight of her celebrated muse.

Bjork's Greatest Hits
$14.89 The 2-CD compilation VOODOO CHILD: THE JIMI HENDRIX COLLECTION contains both original studio recordings and rare alternate takes as well as many previously unavailable live performances recorded at various venues between 1967 and 1970. Also includes a 20-page color booklet with a biographical essay, historical photos and comprehensive recording notes.
Recorded in various locations between June 18, 1967 & August 30, 1970. Includes liner notes by Kurt Loder.
Overseen by the production company formed by Jimi Hendrix's estate, the 2-CD VOODOO CHILD is the definitive compilation of the late innovator's live and studio output. Whether it's the eerie musical mojo conjured up throughout "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)," the transcendental psychedelia fueled by backward-masked guitar on "Are You Experienced," or the delicate beauty of "Angel," the Seattle native's jaw-dropping range still resonates three decades after his death. Among the many treats rounding out the studio segments making up Disc One are a looser and funkier alternate take of "Stone Free" and the original Band Of Gypsies single version of the chugging "Izabella."
Disc Two handily captures Hendrix's live side, ranging from his explosive cover of The Troggs' "Wild Thing" delivered as part of a global debut from the stage of 1967's Monterey International Pop Festival, to a fiery "Freedom" from his final live show at England's Isle Of Wight in 1970. Other featured nuggets include an impromptu, energetic cover of Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode," and Hendrix's requisite incendiary deconstruction ...
