GREATEST HITS brings together the best loved tracks from celebrated 1990s hip hop supergroup The Fugees included "Fu-gee-la," "Ready Or Not," and "Killing Me Softly."

This import contains four exclusive bonus cuts--"Fu-gee-la" (North Side Mix), "Killing Me Softly With His Song" (Sound Barrier Mix), "Ready Or Not" (Clark Kent/Django Remix), & "The Sweetest Thing."

As wonderful and compelling as the Fugees were during their brief moment in the sun (circa 1996), it's difficult to make the case for a Fugees Greatest Hits. The trio only put out two records, the first a muddled attempt at weed-soaked hardcore, the second an excellent fusion of hip-hop and soul, so the obvious choice for record-buyers is that final full-length, The Score. This compilation includes seven tracks from The Score, prefacing it with two selections from the 1994 debut (Blunted on Reality) and tacking on Lauryn Hill's first solo recording, "The Sweetest Thing" -- originally on the Love Jones soundtrack and later included on her first album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Anyone interested in hearing what the Fugees sounded like before The Score is subjected to Blunted on Reality's pair of substandard singles ("Vocab," "Nappy Heads"), though wiser compilers would've chosen early songs that paved the way for The Score, like the graceful Hill feature "Some Seek Stardom." Brief and perfunctory, Greatest Hits is, basically, a budget compilation with a more artful cover. ~ John Bush

Black Eyed Peas, the hip-hop crossover juggernaut that propelled singer Fergie and producer Will.I.Am to superstardom, have, since 2003's ELEPHUNK, been audaciously plugging away at their bombastic but lighthearted style of rap-cum-dance pop--an effort that has translated to a run of successful chart-topping singles including "My Humps," "Pump It," and "Don't Phunk with My Heart." Eager to follow up on the platinum-selling success of 2005's MONKEY BUSINESS, Black Eyed Peas have returned with THE E.N.D. (an acronym for "Energy Never Dies"), their third studio effort. Combining Will.I.Am's thumping 808 kick drum-infused beats with production assistance from a host ...

Leona Lewis Echo CD  (2009)

Greatest Hits CD music
CD $11.18  SALE 2 stars Top 500
The goal of Leona Lewis' 2007 debut, Spirit, was to prove that an X Factor winner could be a phenomenon not just in the U.K., but in the rest of the world. The goal of her second album, 2009's Echo, is to prove that success was no fluke, to build upon "Bleeding Love" and turn Lewis into an actual diva. Certainly, Echo in any of its incarnations -- its song listings are tailored for individual markets, with the U.K. getting a cover of Oasis' "Stop Crying Your Heart Out," while the U.S. gets a second song co-written by Justin Timberlake -- uses the chilly, synthesized "Bleeding Love" as its foundation, creating a sheet of sound equal parts Euro-pop and modern American R&B. As opposed to the often-stuffy Spirit, this is proudly modern, and if the sounds emanating from the two sides of the Atlantic might seem to be aesthetically opposed, they're both producer-driven music constructed layer by layer from rhythm to the vocal, where the overall sound matters more than what's being sung. Which isn't to say that Lewis doesn't sing the hell out of the songs on Echo: she has an uncanny gift for hitting impossible notes without seeming as if she's grandstanding. In fact, there's nary an ounce of diva in Lewis, she seems to enjoy singing for the sake of it, which helps her out on an album like Echo, where the melodies are elliptical, not catchy, designed to showcase range, not to stick in the head or evoke emotion. Similarly, the productions are designed to hop into as many different formats as possible -- rhythmic enough for clubs, glassy enough for radio -- and they get by on feel, not feelings, with whatever heart in the ...

Eboy, Eric Tompoe was born to Mr and Mrs Tompoe. The family moved from Liberia to the USA in search for a better life for their family. Working parents they are, they moved to Trenton, NJ. There Eric engage in normal life like going to school and working. He had always had music on his mind while growing up and the USA was the perfect place. Growing listing to Jay-z, Nas, Biggy, he favors the hip hop and RnB genre the most. Freshment year of high school he officially became member of LIB Fly Boys, a click that features Liberian upcoming rappers. In this group he was recognized as E-boy. In 2004 he was introduced by a close friend to former Trenton rap artist/producer, FEJ who had just moved to California to run an indie label. August 2004 FEJ received a package from Trenton and in it was a three track demo. The following week, a call was made and after two months a deal was on the table making E-boy the third artist to sign a contract to the new indie label, Affable Records. Affable records had E-boy in the studio working on an introductional single feat. FEJ, \'Get Crunk In Here\'. The streets were on fire and the song was a hit. His biggest task was yet to come after the press release of an album tittled It\'s My Time for 2005. With a lot to handle, the new label had two previous album to and promote, so E-boy\'s project was set for 2008 instead. Late 2007 E-boys fans got ...
