This intriguing telefilm employs Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino to portray two sides of a very troubled woman.
Before Marilyn Monroe became the most well-known sex goddess of her time, she was the dark-haired and extremely ambitious Norma Jean Mortenson, willing to use and bed anyone to become a Hollywood star.
Ultimately, plastic surgery, a breathier voice, and a name change transformed Norma Jean into Marilyn Monroe. Movie roles, fame and sex symbol status soon followed, but her personal life was a wreck.
However, "Marilyn" never lost touch with "Norma Jean," who tried to guide her career and personal life. Norma Jean, unhappy with what "Marilyn" had done with their life, berated and advised her alter ego for better AND for worse. Only in death would the two personalities be truly reconciled... The disturbing and tragic tale of the inner struggle of the woman known to the world as Marilyn Monroe. While the public persona was animated and vivacious, the inner child, Norma Jeane, was afraid of the success and desperate to end it. To emphasize the dual nature of Monroe's personality, director Tim Fywell cast two different actresses--Ashley Judd as needy ingenue Norma Jeane, Mira Sorvino as glam bombshell Marilyn--resulting in an unsettling and surreal psychological portrait of the doomed starlet.

From his current post in Antarctica, British glaciologist Matt (Kieran O'Brien), recalls how he met Lisa (Margo Stilley), a 21-year-old American student. They were at a rock concert at London's Brixton Academy, and he took her back to his apartment for sex. This began a brief relationship, which is revealed as Matt remembers and comments on its milestones--mainly the other concerts they attended and their significant sexual experiences--before their initial sexual attraction waned and they were forced to part.
