 The Title Says it All
My copy of this CD arrived the same day that I received bad news of a friend's death. The first thin I did was to put the CD in my player and play the Lauridsen work. I was familiar with it and always found it soothing. What followed was transporting. The combination of tracks and their excellent performance was the perfect tonic for my emotional state. "Peace" is the most perfect title for this CD.

 'Peace', an album for these times
'Peace' is a good concept in fine performances by a long established chamber choir, here a capella. The range of music styles represented comes from the mid-1500s to the present, and the singers continue to demonstrate their appreciation of the characteristics of the periods represented. They are at their best in soft, slow sustained passages where harmony and balance are beautifully maintained. Relaxing and well engineered.
