Black & White; Standard Screen; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English ROCKY & BULLWINKLE creators Jay Ward and Bill Scott devised this 1963 syndicated television series, in which bits of classic silent films were re-dubbed with comedic voice overs from ROCKY & BULLWINKLE voice talents Paul Frees and June Foray. Hans Conreid hosts each of the 26 episodes. Jay Ward's Fractured Flickers: Complete Collection Jay Ward's Fractured Flickers: Complete Collection Movie Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) another Jay Ward / Bill Scott series! Next to Rocky and Bullwinkle, "Fractured Flickers" is my second all-time favorite TV show produced by Jay Ward and Bill Scott. For one year, during which time President Kennedy was killed and the Beatles reinvented rock'n'roll music, a few of us bothered to notice this wonderful series where silent movies from the 1920s were cut up and had added to them the highly recognizable voices, sounds effects, and music as heard on Rocky and Bullwinkle. As if the old silent movies weren't funny enough, the added spoof soundtracks made them more so. I really didn't think this series would ever be released on DVD, but here is every episode in order. Great collection of old film clips!! This set is wonderful! it is loaded with lots of old silent movie clips, and newsreel footage as well. Many of the silent film clips are long gone now, and are only to be found in this 3 disc set!
The picture quality is very good as all 26 episodes were remastered.
The great Paul Frees who did lots and lots of voices for cartoons and also did narration for a number of movies, does most all the funny voiceovers for all that is shown.
Another great thing about this collection is that every bit on it, is chaptered, even tho this does not show on the menu. So, when Hans is shown talking, that is a chapter and for each film segment, that too has its own chapter and this really is great that they did this as this of course makes it very easy to see the segments you want.
So, if you love funny and kinda weird stuff, this set is the ticket! Submitted by chauncygardiner (Coventry, RI) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Flickers is a whole lot of fun. There's lots of material here in Jay Wards' Fractured Flickers, which features the 26 shows that were produced for syndication. Some of the material feels a bit dated, but it still delivers some great laughs. Tarfoot Of The Apes was very funny, but the Fabian interview was hilarious. I've only seen a fraction of the material, but so far, Flickers is worth it. Submitted by bmitchell (Newark, NJ) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$25.35 A deadly tale about misguided love and the trouble it unleashes, Jean-Pierre Denis's MURDEROUS MAIDS is a surprisingly tender recounting of the "Papin Affair." Based on actual events, the film tells the story of the Papin sisters, Christine (Sylvie Testud) and Lea (Julie-Marie Parmentier), two young women living in the1930s in Le Mans, France. Christine, the elder of the two siblings, is overly protective of Lea, an innocent, wide-eyed youngster. As her relationship with her mother deteriorates completely, Christine goads Lea into shunning her mother as well. The pair finally secures employment as maids at the home of the Lancelins. During the day, they ...

BLAZING SADDLES: A madcap spoof of the classic Hollywood Western, BLAZING SADDLES is also one of the most gleefully anti-P.C. films ever produced by a major studio. When the sheriff of a small frontier town is killed, convict Bart (Cleavon Little) is appointed the first black sheriff of all-white Rock Ridge by the evil Hedley Lamarr (Harvey Korman), who hopes this will chase the townspeople from their homes. The naive Sheriff Bart soon catches on, realizing from the less than cheery welcome that the townspeople (who all seem to be named Johnson) aren't ...
