When her wacky producer, Kelly (Timothy Olyphant), shows up to take her back to "work," Matt's life really begins to spiral out of control. All the while, he must continue to rehearse an incredibly important speech that will hopefully earn him a major scholarship. But, most importantly, Matt must win the heart of Danielle once and for all.
Directed with irreverent yet good-natured sincerity by Luke Greenfield, with an all-star soundtrack (Marvin Gaye, Elliott Smith), THE GIRL NEXT DOOR has a breezy charm that might surprise some viewers. This is due in large part to Hirsch and Cuthbert, who deliver assured and engaging performances that help to sweeten the profane proceedings. Girl Next Door Movie Review Average Rating: (3.6 out of 5 stars)   Not bad at all
This is a surprisingly good film, and not at all what I expected. The problem with this film is that it has been marketed as just another movie with gross out comedy, but this really is not the case. "The Girl Next Door" has a lot more heart than those types of films.
The first hour of this film is fantastic, but it loses its way a little towards the end, but I still recommend this well acted, and funny film.

 Elisha Cuthbert is amazing!
i don't know if that's how adultstars really are in real life behind the camera, but i liked how it was portrayed in the movie. People tend to see adult film stars pretty much like sex objects... this movie gave them life underneath that.

Its alright
The movie kind of drags on and you find yourself waiting just to see the girls again. There were high points that will make you laugh though.

I caught this one the other night on regular tv, which I hate because of editing & commericals, but I found myself wanting to keep watching.
I thought the storyline was cute & I really liked the characters. It really shows you not to judge someone right away. I liked Cuthbert's character. She seemed so innocent, but also had a second life. The guys in the movie were hard not to love!
It wasn't what I thought it was going to be like, & actually enjoyed it. Had some good scenes & good laughs!

The media portrayed this movie as another rated-R teen comedy movie. They were wrong. This film had heart and was very entertaining. I think it is a remarkable love story, and I will never forget this movie. I wish there were more of them out there.
The music in the movie is excellent also. Except a lot of my favorite songs are mot on the soundtrack.
So if you want to see another teen comedy like American Pie, this is not the movie to watch. It has a interesting and breathtaking plot and was good from start to finish.
