(1 Customer Review)
This release groups two albums by popular 1960s rock band, The Animals.
The latest reissue of the group's two classic EMI albums, The Animals and Animal Tracks, from 1964 and 1965, respectively, in audiophile-quality digital transfers but -- typically for British releases of the period -- without any of the band's hit singles. The sound is excellent, and dedicated fans will know the music well, but without the hits it's of limited interest to the casual fan. ~ Bruce Eder

Animals/Animal Tracks album
$6.49 SHOOT OUT AT THE FANTASY FACTORY is the second of Traffic's expanded line-up studio albums, following 1971's THE LOW SPARK OF HIGH-HEELED BOYS. The five extended pieces here have little in common with the pastoral, psychedelic folk-pop of Traffic's first four albums, betraying instead Steve Winwood's roots in the Spenser Davis Group and foreshadowing his later solo success in the '80s. Traffic toured constantly before recording FANTASY FACTORY, and the album's extended grooves are clearly born of these performance experiences.
The band's rhythm section was the famed Muscle Shoals Studio bass and drums team of David Hood ...
| | Johnny Otis 1945-1947 CD (2002)
Animals/Animal Tracks CD music
$18.05 Growing up among Afro-Americans in Berkeley, CA, Greek-American Johnny Otis (born John Veliotes) always identified strongly with people of color. Before he had attained the age of 20 he was gigging with black jazz bands throughout the Southwest, and eventually organized an ensemble deliberately patterned after Count Basie's orchestra. This highly charged album of historical musical artifacts documents the very beginning of Johnny Otis' recording career. With one apparently unobtainable exception, the Classics Blues & Rhythm Series has assembled all of Otis' Excelsior recordings, made in Los Angeles between 1945 and 1947. This provides background and context for his more well-known Savoy material, and indeed for everything ...
| | Who's Next: Deluxe Edition CDs (1971) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Deluxe Edition; Digipak
Animals/Animal Tracks music CDs
$19.59 Recorded between 1968 & 1971. Includes liner notes by Pete Townshend, John Atkins, and Chris Charlesworth.
Though Pete Townshend was originally unhappy with WHO'S NEXT, it was quickly welcomed by critics and fans, becoming one of the most celebrated titles in their enduring catalog. His frustrations boiled down to the album being a compromised version of a larger work he'd envisioned, LIFEHOUSE, which proved too unwieldy to be realized. Expanded to a two-disc set with essays by both Townshend and John Atkins, the original nine-song album is expanded with six additional studio tracks.
These include earlier versions of the album's songs and a cover of Holland-Dozier-Holland's "Baby Don't You Do It." Recorded in New York during the spring of 1971 in the midst of a fraying relationship with producer Kit Lambert, the early cuts clearly don't have the sonic breadth and wallop of what the Who achieved back in England later in the year, but are fascinating ...

$15.09 Today the most recognition the Animals get is "House of the Rising Sun" being played on oldies radio, but in the mid-1960s they were a powerful part of the British Invasion, often reckoned on a par with the Beatles, the Stones, and the Who. Like those bands, ...

| | Karen Mcnatt Sweet Lovin' CD (2007)
Animals/Animal Tracks album
$9.49 Karen McNatt- Sweet Lovin'Karen McNatt has been a welcome addition to the Nashville songwriter scene, with her fresh and honest approach to Country Music. She is a performing Songwriter, usually seen in a duo with her husband, and fellow Nashville writer, Don McNatt. Her voice is true and as sweet as the title of her first solo CD. Her songs speak to real people, about real situations, which is what country songs should always be about. Her melodies pay tribute to tradition, making it obvious that she has a wealth of exposure to great music in her background, but still she stays an original, delivering those ingredients in her own unique way. SMPLZAT Songs (ASCAP) proudly claims her as a writerKaren's song "Say Good Morning to your Angel"has been passed via Email, and CD copies have been burned, via internet, through all ranks of the Marine Corps, and to many family members of Marines now serving in Iraq. Her son was there when she wrote this song, and it is a heartfelt prayer for the safety of those in harms way. She was honored to perform this song for the Convention of Marine Parents, in Anaheim, California in 2007."Friday Afternoon", expresses the rush of energy for new love, and the anticipation of the weekend. With a sing along ending, it's a Radio's DJ's dream spin, ...
