The Sad Little Stars are a 5-piece electronic rock band based in Brooklyn, NY performing frenetic dance pop with the energy of a high school pep squad on speed. Their newest release: The Stop Motion Breakdown, features songs that drive the blood...that tap the feet... that bounce the head, while keeping the brain occupied with playfully intelligent lyrics.Formed in New York City in 2003, The Sad Little Stars started with Max Low and Rachel McIntosh as a duo. Their live show originally consisted of Max and Rachel kicking pedals to record and loop their guitar and bass parts live on the spot, freeing them to play keyboards and trigger drum machines while singing their asses off. Each of their limbs representing an invisible member of the band.Their first release, The Stars Below, is a fifteen-song recording which highlights the band’s softer side. Full of romantic pop gems, The Stars Below bursts with sweeping harmonies and folk instruments fused with synthesized riffs and electronic drum beats.
