Medici Wedding: 13 Motets Of The Medici Codex Customer Reviews
| Average Rating: | |
| Beautful music well performed Medici Wedding: 13 Motets Of The Medici Codex For lovers of Renaissance music, this CD is a gem. The Medici codex was a collection of music presented to Madeleine and Lorenzo II as a wedding gift in 1518. Most of the works are not available elsewhere and with the exception of Willaert and possibly Mouton the composers remain obscure. The high point is the "Alma Redeptoris" of the mysterious Jean Le Santier, but the other music is consistently interesting. The recording and performance are first rate.
