| | Pumping On Your Stereo CD Various Artists :
Simply the Best's Pumping on Your Stereo collects a somewhat motley assortment of singles from artists that are either British (Dubstar, the Lightning Seeds, Embrace) or big in Britain (the Dandy Warhols and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, whose "Boys Better" and "Red Eyes and Tears" are, respectively, two of the album's highlights). The collection flits through the '90s and '00s somewhat randomly, but the Sundays' cover of "Wild Horses," Mock Turtles' "Can You Dig It?," Morrissey's "You're the One for Me, Fatty" and Supergrass' title track are some of the standout tracks. Mansun, the Beta Band, Kingmaker and World Party are some of the other bands that give Pumping on Your Stereo an unmistakably British flavor. It's not the most impressive collection of Britpop and its connected styles, but it might still be worthwhile for die-hard Anglophiles. ~ Heather Phares Pumping On Your Stereo Music Pumping On Your Stereo Songs | 1. | Pumping on Your Stereo - Supergrass | |

| | Shakira She Wolf CD (2009)
Pumping On Your Stereo
$14.39 Shakira's brand new English album She Wolf is an uptempo pop album. It is all about synthesizers and electronic concepts, all mixed with the world sounds that we are used to from Shakira.. sounds from countries like India, the Middle East and her home country of Colombia. She Wolf features a predominantly English track list with a follow up album of new and unique repertoire in Spanish to come in 2010. The title track "She-Wolf " boasts the infectious and energizing sound that made Shakira a household name, with a slightly more dancey/ electronic beat (about 125 beats per minute). Though most tracks on the upcoming album will be in English, Shakira chose to service the Spanish version of the first single, "Loba", two weeks before the English single is launched.
Last time around, Shakira touched upon so many styles she couldn't be contained on one album, splitting Oral Fixation in two. This time, she focuses on one sound only: a pulsating electro-disco that crosses all boundaries and welcomes all nationalities. Such concentration behooves Shakira, freeing her to release her inner She Wolf, a wild wacko who's as coo coo as she is carnal. And for as sexy as Shakira is -- crucially, her music is sexy too -- what really gives She Wolf its bite is her inspired nuttiness, how she laments that Matt Damon's not meant for her, and wishes her ex-lover and his new girl a horrible vacation where the room smells and the toilet doesn't flush. "Darling, it is no joke, this is lycanthropy," she sings on the title track with no small trace of ...
