MAKING CONTACT/MISDEMEANOUR was originally released as two seperate LPs in 1983 and 1985.
This two-disc set includes 1983's Making Contact and 1985's Misdemeanor in one package. Neither title strayed too much from the proven UFO formula, incorporating both chunky hard rock and keyboard-driven ballads, even though the songwriting was fairly average when compared to past UFO albums. These releases also continued their dubious competition with Scorpions as the source for the world's worst album covers. Despite that, Making Contact is competent, with the underrated Paul Chapman adding guitar textures to pretty predictable stuff. Born in Italy in 1960 and residing in the United States since 1980, Francesco Crosara is an accomplished jazz pianist, composer and educator who has performed at festivals and venues across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. He comes from a musical family as his mother, Lilian Terry, is one of Europe's foremost jazz vocalists who has recorded also with Dizzy Gillespie and with Tommy Flanagan. ARTISTS HE HAS PERFORMED WITH Lionel Hampton, Freddie Hubbard, Roy Hargrove, Richie Cole, Von Freeman, Bobby Shew, Ira Sullivan, Don Menza, Barbara Morrison, Gabe Baltazar, Mayuto Correa, John Heard, Earl Palmer, and his mother Lilian Terry. MUSICAL STUDIES Francesco studied Classical Piano & Theory at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, followed by private studies in Jazz Harmony, Composition and Improvisation in Italy.
