Intial pressings of HOUSE OF SECRETS come in limited edition, 3-D packaging.
The impenetrable boys' club of metal has fallen, thanks, in part, to vocalist Otep Shamaya. The band bearing her name is known largely for its fierce Ozzfest appearances, and its sophomore release, HOUSE OF SECRETS, is an affair even heavier and scarier than its debut. Here political provocation and dissent join Shamaya's palette of verbal assaults. As listeners are drawn into her dark world, swirling lyrical mantras slowly rise to levels of savage intensity. Shamaya's ability to sonically pummel her audience in a discomforting way, then offer fleeting moments of softer reflection, caesura, and disarmingly sultry melody, is what makes her so unpredictable. "Nein" showcases the group's ferocious chops and highlights its ability to create an urgency that matches the ever-dominant vocals. In addition to guitarist Greg Wells and bassist Evil J., Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison brings his skilled skin-bashing to the record, strengthening an already mighty force.
Parental Advisory. LTD.Ed. 3-D Package.

Otep House Of Secrets Songs House Of Secrets Music Review Average Rating: (3.3 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Only 3 I give this CD 3 stars. I think there is too many spoken word songs. The songs that actually involve instruments are great, but few and far between. Sevas Tra was far better. Submitted by cobyking (Cobleskill, NY, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
not bad Not really a fan of the spoken word, but the songs are brutal and to the point, rock on Otep! Submitted by Mark (knoxville) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Not as great as sevas tra This CD is really good but, it just does not own up to sevas tra. If your a fan of Otep buy it. But, if your a new fan buy, sevas tra first and you'll see the difference. Submitted by purplegreenpanda (Cotton Candy, Alaska) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
House of Secrets, reveiled This CD gives us a biggger look into Otep Shamaya's mind. It's scary and dark, but you just can't stop.
I love all their CD's and am a willful listener. I regret and disrespect all the bad reviews given. If you don't like the music, don't listen to it. But don't insult the music.

| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
House Of Secrets CD music
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling Stone Ron Wood also turns ...
| | Otep Sevas Tra CD (2002) Limited Edition; Digipak; Enhanced CD
House Of Secrets music CDs
$11.39 Otep instantly raises the bar on today's female-fronted metal band scene. Signed in the wake of some serious Ozzfest buzz (the band landed a coveted spot on the tour with no record deal), the California quartet makes acts such as Kittie or Snake River Conspiracy seem tame by comparison. The band's first full-length, SEVAS TRA packs a menacing groovecore punch.
Part poet and part Barbie-doll growler, enchanting vocalist Otep Shamaya could easily give Corey Taylor (Slipknot) or Phil Anselmo (Pantera) a run for their money. Shamaya's self-proclaimed poeticism clearly suggests that the scary-sounding band name is a simple anagram. Otep's music is at times, crushing, anthemic, and venemously vengeful. Think Slayer-meets-RATM for "T.R.I.C," one of many brutal tracks, expertly produced by ...

House Of Secrets album
$8.32 This CD includes all ten of the demos on the Legendary Lost Recordings album, and adds three songs from somewhat later that feature ex-Pretty Things guitarist Gordon Edwards and some session players. It retains Pete Makowski's Legendary Lost Recordings liner notes, but adds additional notes by England's Glory drummer Jon Newey. This material marks Perrett as the most obsessed, and accurate, Lou Reed imitator ever captured on tape. No doubt the result of endless hours spent kneeling at Reed's 1972 Transformer album as it was spinning round the turntable, Perrett didn't miss a trick in emulating his hero of the moment. Tuneful power chords, sluggish keyboards, vulnerable-to-the-point-of-shaking ...

| | Highest Hopes: The Best Of Nightwish CD (2005)
House Of Secrets songs
$14.09 Released at a time when Nightwish's future appeared uncertain because of the shocking departure of charismatic frontwoman and de facto band calling card Tarja Turunen, Highest Hopes is a comprehensive greatest-hits collection spanning the chart-topping Finnish pop-metal act's entire first decade. Summarized in one convenient CD at last, the 16-song set proves that Nightwish were nothing if not consistent -- both in terms of quality and overall style -- throughout the five and a half studio albums recorded during that period. Yes, enduring early numbers like the Tolkien-esque "Elvenpath," the somewhat preposterous, narration-embellished "The Kinslayer," and the neoclassical metal-by-numbers of "Stargazers" eventually gave way to slightly more refined (and restrained) pop-metal singles like "Ever Dream," "Wish I Had an Angel," and "Nemo" (which, one presumes, was about the submarine captain, not the fish), but the relatively seamless ...
