 I want to become a critic after high school
Forward: My name is Andy "Remex" Moreno And after high school if my music stuff doesnt go according to plan, i wopuld like to critique albums for source or XXL. I'll start with this one becuase no critiques are available. -Remex 3 Stars Kube 93's very own Byrdie hailing from Seattle realeases N Flight, a radio friendly album which can be looked at from many angles. Seattle is notorious for its music scene in rock and roll(i.e. Nirvana, Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie etc.), but Byrdie is the first in a long time to break out of Seattle as a hip-hop artist. Ever since Sir-Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back" blew up, nothing has really happened for the northwest's hip hop scene. Byrdie may be very underground and may not be familiar to hip hop fans in the Seattle area, but tune in to Kube 93 during the 5 o' Clock Traffic Jam in western Washington and he is the writer/composer of the Theme for it. The album seems to be portrayed in a way that radio's can play it with no need to edit. "Way's Of The World, The - (featuring Onry Ozzborn)", and Move On - (featuring Choklate)" show a sense that Byrdie has been there and done that in life and that he knows it's rough but all of us can make it sooner or later. A listener may relate Byrdie to LL Cool J or Nelly in a sense that his tracks can get you on a dance floor fast, "B.Y.R.D.I.E." , "Who?" and "All Out" are obvious choices that ought to be played by DJ's in any Club. The album goes down on "Scattin'" and "Wanted", and even though Byrdie makes an attempt for a catchy love song "I Wanna Know - (featuring Darrius Willrich)" Doesnt meet to that expectation at a lyrical aspect, but production provided by Vitamin D makes it worth the listen. The album makes a good impression of the hip hop scene in Seattle and will hopefully remain as a the pre-lude of what is yet to come from the Northwest. ~Andy "Remex" Moreno
