Although Glassjaw's Daryl Palumbo could have stuck to his nu-metal guns while teaming up with dance/electronica producer Dan "the Automator" Nakamura, the vocalist uses DECADENCE as a conduit for Rapture-worthy grooves with a rock & roll swagger. Among the more booty-shaking Head Automatica creations are the Primal Scream-like "Brooklyn Is Burning," with its mix of big beats and pumped-up riffage, and "Please Please Please (Young Hollywood)," a bass-driven rant with illicit imagery and swirling synths. A garage-rock vibe infuses this project, and is most apparent on the organ-driven rave-ups "At the Speed of a Yellow Bullet" and "Dance Party Plus." The biggest change hardcore fans will encounter is Palumbo taking a crack at singing, rather than the howling he's best known for as part of his regular Glassjaw gig. His phrasing recalls an Americanized version of the Cure's Robert Smith, particularly on the militaristic shuffle "King Caesar." Throughout the album, this Long Island native is ably aided by Nakamura's sonic tinkerings, most notably on the Middle Eastern-tinged "Head Automatica Soundsystem."

remember when music made people feel good? Every song differs from the next. Every track makes you either dance along, sing along, or bob your head.

Dont be paying glassjaw out jeez.alot of u guys really dont get music. If u listen to glassjaw and want 2 slit ur wrists then u have personal problems.both glassjaw albums have so much emotion that it would be very narrow minded to judge it like that.Glassjaw is excellent for what it is.Most musicians or people who give it a go can relate it 2 all parts of their own life experiences good and bad.Head automatica just goes to show how versatile darryl really is,not how "crap glassjaw is".I think both bands are awesome and darryl is a very talented guy.
