| | Toby Keith American Ride CD (2009)
Christmas In The Country CD music
$13.09 With most contemporary country artists, you could guarantee that a song called "American Ride" would be a slice of jingoism, but Toby Keith isn't like most country singers. His "American Ride" casts a cynical eye at desperate housewives and wannabe pop stars, not celebrating down-home values but wondering where we're all headed on this American Ride at the end of the 2000s, a sentiment not all that far removed from some of Keith's previous social commentary, which makes it a mild surprise that it is the only song here that doesn't come from his own pen. As superb and striking as it is, it's not necessarily a good keystone for the rest of the record, which does have a few tougher numbers that pick up on the lean, mean vibe of 2008's ...

| | Celeste Angel EP CD (2006)
Christmas In The Country CD music
$6.69 Celeste has become a household name in her home town of Malibu California over the last couple months...If you're not from or know much about the scene there, you might be surprised there is a rock and southern rock edge that exists which we've called "the malibu sound". Celeste isn't in that genre but has been influenced by and grown up listening to music far before her years- artists like: Led Zeppelin, Aretha Frankiln, Janis Joplin, Skynard, Madonna, and other contemporary greats. She loves the current top 40 artists too and has some R&B tunes almost ready for your ears since her heart has always been in popular music. She was playing the malibu inn regularly as a kid and danced on stage with Michael jackson, performed on Television "Idol" shows and sang on Film soundtracks. Producers flocked and unscrupulous characters that ran con games tried to get more than they could, ruining many opportunities. Labels shelved her tracks- producers left without bills paid & If that weren't enough, her sister was killed in a tragic car accident from a drugged driver that still is alive today. Sabrina, was only 16 years old. Celeste and she were inseparable "Us against the world" ... and so talented together- This tragedy, nearly ruined Celeste's family. The entire community was rocked by this. Celeste doesn't use this as a sympathy card, this is who she is. It is part of celebrating the best parts and the hard parts of life- Its what is just coming through her in her music, she's being honest and true...Some artists will be brave enough to let you in on their life. There's always room for interpreting things differently with Celeste and that keeps the mystery. One of the coolest people on the planet and some have called the "NON-DIVA DIVA" You'll hear in the latest single "JUST HOLD MY HAND" that she says "some say that time heals the pain, some say you'll never be the same" well, that song truly shows the process and bravery she has to deal with life. In this ANGEL EP... it was originally a record asked by major labels - more of a demo request that was done entirely by Paul Grundman and Celeste. Guesting on this recording is Jason Orme (Guitar-ALANIS MORISETTE) and some programming in the loops from Mike Zick. Other than that, Grundman put together this entire production from start to finish performing all of the instruments, producing , recording, engineering, mixing. He has since become Celeste's co-producer in writing and other aspects- still playing drums when she plays live. Labels have lost money and closed doors to many that would have been signed years ago but now- with fear the primary fuel...Celeste works her behind off in being a vocal coach in the Palisades area and isn't some "MALIBU RICH KID" far from it, she like many artists, is just getting by and thats why ...
