| North and South North and South - The Complete Collection video I have reviewed 3 of the disks. North and South - The Complete Collection film I saw the movie on television 20 years ago. But, I have noticed there are many scenes that have been edited out by Warner Brothers. 1. Love scenes between Virgilia and Grady 2. Orry kicking his sister Ashton out 3. How Justin got the scar 4. Orry and Justin exchanging words I am certain there are other ones missing also. I know these scenes exist because Time Life is offering the same set and they are advertising them. As a result of these missing scenes the story line has been rendered somewhat disjointed and difficult to follow. I don’t like having to guess at things. So, therefore I am not completely happy with this edited version. I would have liked to have had the COMPLETE version. I would like to complain to Warner Brother’s about this butchered Masterpiece. Please advise me. By ganddw (Carson City, NV 89706) |
| An endless classic....... North and South - The Complete Collection review I love this miniseries. Book three was my least favorite, I still enjoyed it, even though Orry was dead. I could not stop watching until i finished the entire series. An all star cast with great story lines. A must buy for any civial war buff. By Ryan (Jackson,KY,USA) |
| This is why some of us really loathe Reality TV! North and South - The Complete Collection DVD for sale Ah yes, the good old days. I still fondly remember these epic Mini Series, even after so many years. Living way down in NZ, we probably saw them awhile after you yanks and rebs, but they made a big impression on me then, and now. As I watched these again (thoroughly enjoying the 3 series that we never saw here in NZ) it really did dramatically expose the lack of effort that is put into some of today's programming.5 stars for some damn fine TV! | The Best Civil War movie Made North and South - The Complete Collection movie North and South Book 1 and 2, is the best movie made, with accurate details of the time. The only missing part is the Appomattox house when General Lee’s surrenders and his final address to his troops. I was not impressed with book 3 sad to say. I remember watching it back in the 80’s and loved it then too. Now I am a proud owner of the DVD collection set. Excellent movie! By Frisky_avenger (Fort Campbell, Ky USA) |
