An endless classic.......
I love this miniseries.. Book three was my least favorite, I still enjoyed it, even though Orry was dead. I could not stop watching until i finished the entire series. An all star cast with great story lines.. A must buy for any civial war buff..

I have reviewed 3 of the disks. I saw the movie on television 20 years ago. But, I have noticed there are many scenes that have been edited out by Warner Brothers.
1. Love scenes between Virgilia and Grady
2. Orry kicking his sister Ashton out
3. How Justin got the scar
4. Orry and Justin exchanging words
I am certain there are other ones missing also. I know these scenes exist because Time Life is offering the same set and they are advertising them. As a result of these missing scenes the story line has been rendered somewhat disjointed and difficult to follow. I don’t like having to guess at things. So, therefore I am not completely happy with this edited version. I would have liked to have had the COMPLETE version. I would like to complain to Warner Brother’s about this butchered Masterpiece. Please advise me.

This is why some of us really loathe Reality TV!
Ah yes, the good old days. I still fondly remember these epic Mini Series, even after so many years. Living way down in NZ, we probably saw them awhile after you yanks and rebs, but they made a big impression on me then, and now. As I watched these again (thoroughly enjoying the 3 series that we never saw here in NZ) it really did dramatically expose the lack of effort that is put into some of today's programming. 5 stars for some damn fine TV!

"North and South" is perhaps one of the better movies on the Civil War. Not only does it ignites the emotions about war, but the passion and love of the human experience.
