Standard Screen; Soundtrack English In 1979, producer Glen A. Larson (Battlestar Galactica, The A-Team) revived the character of Buck Rogers (originally created in 1928) for a television pilot for NBC. The result got a theatrical release, only to appear a year later on television as a prelude to a series starring Gil Gerard as the astronaut who goes on a space mission, only to awaken 500 years later on a severely different Earth and be chosen to aid a special defense organization due to his superior piloting skills. In the second season, Buck becomes a crew member on the Seacher, a spacecraft on the mission of finding lost tribes of Earth on other planets. Buck's robot assistant is voiced by cartoon legend Mel Blanc. This 5-DVD set includes all 32 episodes and the original pilot movie.
This is the only Felix Silla video. Stars also making their debut in this video: Duke Butler. Buck Rogers In The 25th Century - The Complete Epic Series Movie Review Average Rating: (4.4 out of 5 stars) A dream come true Getting the complete Buck Rogers on DVD is like a dream come true. This is one of my all time favorite shows and for years I have been watching the episodes that I taped from the Sci Fi Channel over and over again. To have them uncut in crystal clear DVD format is wonderful! A must have for any fan of this classic series! Submitted by Paul (Columbus, OH, USA) Was This Review Helpful? The best cheese you'll ever see! it does look a tad dated and cheezy but in my opinion, buck rogers is one of the best sci-fi tv shows of all time.I rememebr watching this show as a kid and never missing an episode.im suprised it took this long to get the show on DVD but im glad it finally happened.I will say that im a little dissapointed that there was no commentary on any of the episodes.it would have been nice to hear Erin Grey and Gil Gerard talk about their experiences with this show. ALMOST FLAWLESS From first episode to last , from first
season to last ; Buck Rogers was ac action adventure for it's time , the
cast was wonderful , the sets were great and Gil Gerard was the best as
Buck Rogers , but I'm a fan of watching
women in the universe of science fiction , since the days of Nichelle Nichols in Star Trek , or Barbara Bain in Space:1999 , I loved watching Erin
Gray as Wilma , the character was great
and Buck Roger's equal in every respect
and Erin Gray was perfect in that role
Congratulations Buck Rogers . Submitted by rkallao (Davenport Florida) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 2 found this helpful.
Blast from the past As the review before me says--"Buck Rogers," is a tad "dated," but the fun is still there. And, I too wish that the DVD set had comment/commentary from Erin Gray, Gil Gerard, Pamela Hensley, Etc. The first season of "Buck Rogers," was the best by far for it was the season with more action, story, hot women, and special effects magic. Watching the series after waiting all these years for it to be released was thrilling, but sad though. Why? Because half the actors, and actresses haven't done much since. When you look on the internet for more recent informatiion on them its really hard to find anything--which is sad...I'd like to see more of them. I know Erin Gray, Gil Gerard, Pamela Hensley have gotten older, but who cares...I still watch there shows when I can find them. Note--episode "Twiki Is Missing," has Ann-Marie Martin from "Sledge Hammer," in it, and she looks awesome--thankfully it is one of the best written episodes. Also "Flight Of The War-Witch," is cool to watch because Buck, and Princess Ardala team up to fight the War-Witch which was a great way to end the first season. I think Buck Wilma, and Princess Ardala had great chemistry...it was a shame the series was cancelled after just one season. I know the series lasted two seasons, but the re-tooling was aweful. Re-live the adventure for yourself and see which season you like best. Submitted by aaronancient (San Juan Capistrano, Ca) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 2 found this helpful.
An excellent, entertaining sci-fi series. I hadn't seen the show since it went off the air in 1981. The Sci-Fi Channel has shown three of the same episodes over and over. The editing was awful and the picture quality horrible. This dvd series has brought the show back to life. A crisp picture and Dolby stereo have rejuvenated a tv classic. All episodes are presented flawlessly. The editing connects all scenes without mishap and the picture quality is modern and doesn't seem to be from 1979-1981. It was as if seeing the tv show for the first time episode after episode. My only complaint is that there isn't a section with cast member interviews about the show.
