| | Playstation 2 Rumble Roses (PS2) (4 Customer Reviews)
Developed jointly by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo and wrestling game developer Yuke's, Rumble Roses is a powerhouse combination with intense wresting action, sexy female models, audacious poses and bold moves - all delivered with state-of-the-art graphics. Rumble Roses also features an advanced combat system that allows players to develop unique styles for their wrestlers. Players are able to change the personalities of their wrestlers through their actions in the ring, which then translates into changes in costume, attitude, and wrestling style options. Insults and taunts prove a lot more important here than in your typical wrestling title too, and many of the maneuvers are said to leave opponents in, what we will call, "compromising positions". Rumble Roses Games Review Average Rating: (3.5 out of 5 stars) The whole thing needs work! The girls in this game in my opinion, could be sexier...Perhaps the people who made this shouild've used real female models!
Frankly....I'm displeased! 2 BIG THUMBS WAY DOWN! Submitted by mgt05 (Toronto, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Better Than some I like to consiter myself a wrestling game addict. When I bought the game, I was expecting nothing but a show of T&A, and was pleasantly surprised. Yeah, the story wasn't the great and it needed to be longer. The lines were like something out of a bad B movie. It was actually the game play that got me to keep playing the game. Yeah, it has it's flaws, but so does every game. I could pick out things I don't like about my favorite game. It was the first and there is another one out that has been improved. I got the game almost two years ago, and I'm still enjoying it. Submitted by Adam (Statesboro, GA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Great game, next R.R. could have improvements. One of the sexiest games out there. no other game has this kind of action, and yet there's still alot of room for improvement, such as in the mud match mode when a character is knocked down not much of them is visable under the "mud"(muddy water) and the mode lacks the ability to put ropes around the mud ring thereby losing some of the moves in a normal ring.
Also the game lacks such features as... "create a character", "record a match",
Create your own "wrestling" moves",
"slow motion on demand", "Camera lock mode" were someone can alter the camera angle and it will lock to the same place
every time the move is done.,
"unlimited moves feature" were you can
unlock the ability to do all the moves in the game with any/all the characters", "the ability to asign audio to any move at desired time", and "super
submission holds" the ability to unlock
holds so that they last an indefinite
amount of time. unfortunatly Konami "doesn't take tips from customers".
so it may be a while till we see these
features in a game.

Not what I thought it would be...... Saw the ads and the cover. Didn't spark my interest. Kinda thought it was a pure T&A waste of time. Then I got it as a bit of a gag X-Mas gift and it sat for months. Then we opened it...
It's not that bad. Quite good actually. The game play is fairly solid and the graphics keep the action smooth. The major moves by many of the wrestlers in the game, while keeping all the basics in, look like something out of New Japan or a wild Lucha Libre match and that sets it apart from some of the other wrestling games action wise. The background stories and scenes run a bit on the campy humor side but not so far that it gets under your skin.
Will the girlfriend/wife kill you for it? Depends. There was some eye rolling by the wife when we got it and lots more when it got opened. But, being an anime fanatic who loves Dragon Half and such, she actually found the camp storylines, backgrounds and motives of the characters kinda fun.
Hopefully it will sell well enough to warrant a RR2 that's a bit bigger and better.
